There were almost no gf items on the menu and while the waitress was nice and asked kitchen staff to verify if items were gf or not, I think I ended up with either cc issues or a non gf roll bc I felt awful after I ate here. And what I had didn't even taste that great. Very mediocre sushi in my opinion. Will not be going back.
Our waitress was knowledgable about the few menu items that were gluten free. Unfortunately, their meats are already marinated in a gluten-filled sauce so I could only have the veggie hibachi with gluten free soy sauce. They even brought a bottle of gf soy sauce to the table. I hope they will consider keeping unmarinated chicken or steak on hand in the future.
They had nice service and a relaxing atmosphere. My family enjoyed their meals and sushi.
I'm always a little nervous about trying out Japanese restaurants because of how many of their offering have gluten in them (soy sauce and tempura), but went to Hayashi for a friend's going away party and was pleasantly surprised at how willing they were to accommodate my diet restrictions. She confirmed that the vinegar in their sushi rice was purely rice based, no gluten, and made me a special roll with just salmon, avocado and cucumber. They also had a bottle of GF soy sauce for me to use. I felt fine after my meal, so I'd feel safe going back there.
