Great brunch place. Went there two days in a row and the chef remembered my coffee order. Really good tasting and a nice variety of savoury and sweet foods.

Absolutely love Heirs Pears, I cannot wait to go back next time I’m in downtown Vancouver. The only wish I had is that they’re open later on the weekend! Other than that, a fantastic dedicated gluten free stop. The chicken shawarma sandwich was amazing and I can’t wait to try some of their other options!

Update: a little sad to find out that on Sunday they don’t do anything on the lunch menu, they only offer options from the breakfast and brunch menus. As someone who is lactose and egg free, disappointing to see that every option is heavy in eggs or cream cheese on these menus :( overall still a nice place to dine, just wish they offered a couple egg/dairy free options on Sundays.

We loved this place. My husband and children all have celiacs and we didn’t have any issues. We got the waffles with strawberry compote, eggs Benedict (or at least a new version of it), bagel with lox and cream cheese and pancakes. Everything was delicious so we got a baggie of baked goods to take back to the hotel to have tomorrow too. Loved being able to take our kids to a place where we can actually let them order anything from the menu. It’s a rare luxury.

The kale, quinoa salad with trout was delicious! Enjoyable music as well as food. Husband found his meal tasty even though gf isn’t always his favorite. The blueberry preserves for his bread was great with my trout!

Fully gf, with a really good changing selection of cakes, as well as a whole menu. Had the shawarma chicken with rice noods, and pancakes another day which were great. Oat cookie was also v nice

What a treat! Dedicated gf restaurant. Absolutely delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee drinks, pastries! I ate at Heirs Pears every day during my visit. The Jerk Chicken Cauliflower Crust Pizza is to-die-for, if you like spicy. 😋 (And it was the first pizza that I’ve been able to order at a restaurant in years!) Highly recommend.

EVERYTHING IS G-FREE! 😍 I was on vacation in the area, and went there 3 times in the week I was there. There are so many options! They have a variety of baked goods daily, and the staff is super sweet and open to giving suggestions. 10/10 would recommend and 100% going back again.

Dedicated GF. Nice variety of dishes, pleasant staff (the cook has some serious singing chops!). Smaller seating space, almost a deli type atmosphere. I think they do mostly take out but there are a few tables to eat in. Good food. We had the taco bowl (the best guacamole I’ve had in a long time) and an absolutely huge serving of nachos with the chicken option added. The nachos alone would be a meal for two. Baked goods were also yummy. We bought lemon loaf, pumpkin loaf, a white chocolate covered cheesecake portion and a brownie.

This was so delicious and filling, without being too heavy! I ordered the Heirs Pears breakfast, raspberry glazed chocolate donut, and a matcha latte. The donut was moist, the glaze sweet and tart and adding a nice texture contrast. The matcha latte was solid—I don’t like them sweetened much if at all, this one was 👍🏼👍🏼. And the big breakfast was so big, I only ate 1/2 and saved the other 1/2 for later. (It was good then too.) Definitely recommend and will go back as soon as I’m in town again. Great place and delicious food! I had the avocado toast trio for brunch and although they were out of mushrooms they accommodated with an extra of my choice. I chose an extra egg and cleaned my plate. I also bought a loaf of sourdough to take home with me. Highly recommend and I will be back.

2023 Update: I have been staying in Vancouver for two weeks for work, and have eaten here six times. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Pancakes (only available on weekends) are gorgeous, veggie omelettes are fantastic, and I love, love the salads. The gf baked goods are also terrific, and the coffee is good.

Definitely check it out!

2019 review: I ate here four days in a row on a recent trip, and didn’t have one bad meal. All the mains I tried were delicious, and I loved their pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. The staff are friendly and it’s a nice, casual spot to hang out with friends and colleagues.

This restaurant is the best I’ve been to on my visit to Vancouver! I have a lot of allergies and they were so positive and accommodating, making sure everything was ok for me to eat ! The staff is so friendly and will definitely put you in an amazing mood! Chef Sam is singing to the music and all staff has smiles on their faces. Don’t come here only for the amazing food but also for the incredible energy the staff provides! Food was so delicious and I even forgot to tell them about a tomato allergy and they remade my meal without charge. If you go anywhere in this city come here !’

The jerk chicken pizza was amazing! The restaurant is all gluten free, even the beer choices. We hit a slow night and the owner/chef was incredibly friendly. He made us special cocktails and when we left with some baked goods, he threw in an extra. Service and food were top notch!

Delish!!! And everything is gluten free so there was no issue with anything. We opted for the salmon bagel (yes, a soft gf bagel.. a unicorn in food), a beautiful smoked salmon omelette and the HP signature (a gf Benedict in potato)- all of them were amazing. Plus our trip of lattes were perfect: chai, lavender and a flat white. And the 80’s soundtrack with the singing chef was the perfect morning lift.

It's nice to have a gf place with a variety of options. I think next time I'll try something that's more of a specialty as the Spicy Beef Taco Bowl was quite basic (but tasty!) I don't know if it was just a random occurence but when I was there the music was playing so loud I felt like I was purposely being rushed out, which was unfortunate since restaurant options are limited as a celiac and I would hope to feel a bit more welcome at a dedicated gf restaurant.

The jerk chicken is so so so good!! Even my gluten eating friends agree that it’s one of the best in the city. It’s so nice not to have to worry about cross contamination and it’s a convenient location.

This place is a dream come true! I had the smoked salmon bagel the first visit and haven’t strayed from it as it was amazing! I did add a blueberry muffin and cocoa to my breakfast on my second visit and was not disappointed. The muffin is HUGE. I brought it home and my gluten eater husband loved it. I’d love to bring the chef home with me to Arizona USA so I could eat here every day.
