Hole in the Wall was kind and informative and did have a GF labeled menu. However, taste wise, what I got left me sad. I ordered fish tacos. The corn tortilla it was subbed for was not even warmed and crumbled under the fish. The fish was well seasoned and grilled safely, but then just topped with dry cabbage and sauce on the side. My only side options were asparagus and pickled beets.

We felt attentively cared for here while we were vacationing in the area. The menu offers GF alternatives with a double asterisk mark. Tom, who was at the hostess stand but also maybe working the open expo counter, knew all about what the GF alternatives on the menu are. There are corn tortillas to sub in, but no GF bread or breading. The fryers are shared, so no go there for me. Our server was aware I was gf by the time she came by to get a drink order, so Tom must’ve let her know. And when they thought I had ordered something with gluten in it, two separate staff came by to be sure I knew it wasn’t safe.(It was my sweetie’s meal that wasn’t GF, so it was a-okay bc he isn’t celiac.) I am delighted that we could eat on Gwynn’s Island at a local spot, staring out at the water. FWIW, the hard cider was a sweet one (I like dry) and the fish tacos were…odd (cheese-what?!) The seafood is so fresh, though, that I should have just had the fish of the day rather than getting fancy with the tacos. I’m sure it would have been a better culinary choice for me. But what I chose was SAFE- I didn’t get sick- and that is my predominant concern ofc. They also have music some nights and do drive up and boat up orders!

For a very small town they are very knowledgeable about gluten free menu items. Not only do they have items listed on the menu, but the servers even double check themselves. Shrimp tacos were made GF and so satisfying. I have also tried the grilled fish basket with no issues. Kitchen is open, so you can visually watch them make your food if it isn't busy.

It's right on the water and the view is amazing. Cocktails are good too.
