I have been coming to this establishment for years now and have normally had a good experience. Last time i came I wanted coffee and a muffin but they no longer had their gluten free mochi muffins which was disappointing. I wanted to be prepared this time so i stopped at The Mill to get gluten free toast to enjoy with my coffee at Home. When I ordered today I asked for my coffee to be “for here” and the barista told me i couldn’t have it for here because i had outside food with me. I explained to her that I have celiac disease which is a recognized disability by the ADA and that I had brought the outside food so that I would have a gluten-free option. She proceeded to tell me that they had the gf muffins today and that i couldn’t have my gluten free toast. If they offered gf bread I would have gotten food there but they do not. A small muffin is not enough food for anyone. I tried to reason with her but she just kept repeating we have the muffins and i could tell she couldn’t care less about my disability. This cafe discriminates against people with disabilities! I do love their coffee but I don’t think i’ll be coming back after this experience.
