I loved it here! The staff were very helpful, and explained the menu to me. Not only was I able to have a burger and onion rings, but there was also a craft beer on draft that was gluten free. Everything was absolutely delicious, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended - will definitely be back!

So good! I was recently diagnosed with Celiac and didn’t think I’d be able to eat a burger or onion rings again. The staff were super friendly and helpful! ✨

I have eaten at honest burgers many times over the years (maybe 15 times) and never had any problems. I’ve spoken to them at length about their cooking methods and often ask if anything has changed when I visit. Their core menu is almost entirely gf apart from the normal bread bun so there’s a low risk of cross contamination. No gluten products in the fryer so chips and onion rings safe! I’m super sensitive and now have a dairy and soya allergy and they have always gone out of their way to help me. This is one of my safe places to eat!

After our 3rd and possibly last meal at Honest Burger in Reading although we’ve always appreciated the ability for most of the burgers to be made GF and usually a GF beer on tap or at least an option in cans, on our last visit we were both ill. We chose different burgers - 1 chicken and 1 beef - with rosemary fries as sides. We had not really eaten much else that day but within the next 1-2 hours we were both feeling sick and my wife was unable to work the next day. We are very suspicious that there was contamination even though I have typically been asymptomatic. We don’t want to cast aspersions as previous 2 visits have been fine and plenty of other reviews are positive, but we won’t take the chance again. Would recommend double checking they are avoiding contamination as well as choosing the GF roll for your burger. Aside from this we’ve also reflected that >£40 for 2 burgers and fries + 2 beers is pretty expensive even for in theory a high end burger.

Great burgers, all able to be served with gluten free buns. All sides and sauces are also gluten free so you can have any items on the menu! Some of the best wings I’ve ever had :)

The whole menu is gluten free by default. The only thing containing gluten is the normal burger buns. The staff are really careful and well informed. Great burgers too, and the rosemary salted fries are the best ever.

Great service, waitress couldn’t eat gluten so we had a good conversation about symptoms and she was great at explaining the menu. Brilliant that the fries and onion rings were safe and they had gf beer (I didn’t have it, I had cider). Lovely burger (Reading special with Waterloo cheese) and great that they had a good choice for gluten free and my vegetarian friend. Fries were lovely!

I’ve eaten here a few times and have usually been fine. I am super sensitive to cross contamination. In my last visit I had a bun for the first time and it made me slightly ill. The food is great and the fries and onion rings are very safe

Great as always! Honest Burgers always feels like a pleasant experience without the need to worry. Especially when they start taking your order by asking if anyone has any dietary requirements.

Many of the items here are already gluten free: included the friers, chips, and onions rings. The burgers are safe with the option of a gluten free or gluten full bun!

Everything except the standard buns are gf, including the onion rings! GF buns are £1 extra and taste like actual bread.
Yes
We love ho est burgers, fantastic food. The only gluten item on the menu is the bread roll. For an extra £1 you get a gf roll, so eating out is really easy and tasty for everyone
Yes
Best burger bun I’ve had. Brioche-ey. I think you can also eat the onion rings!
Yes
understand coeliac very well. eaten numerous times and never been ill. all burgers are gluten free and have a gluten free bun option. chips are gluten free, the onion rings are gluten free and gluten free beer option!
The onion rings are delicious. Burgers are large and bun is so soft you won't believe it. Restroom is upstairs and shared for both sexes so be aware. If I was having trouble with a man I don't think anyone downstairs could hear me yell for help. Burger claimed to be cooked medium but ours was rare and I could only eat the outside. We split a burger, order of fries and onion rings. The fries had some coating of cheese that I didn't like. If we go back I would ask for a medium-well burger and onion rings.

Just go! These are some of the best burgers in London, and almost all of the menu is gluten free, the only gluten item is the burger bun. Everything fried is gluten free so the fryer is celiac safe! This location was serving double smash patties due to a regular burger patty the day we went in but it was still amazing! I ordered the honest burger and it was delightful, definitely a hearty burger with the cheese, bacon and onion relish but was absolutely delicious especially paired with the rosemary chips. Honest Burger is a must visit if you’re in the area!

First experienced this restaurant chain in Manchester. Everything is very clearly labeled on the menu as to what’s gluten free or can be made gluten free for a slight 30p upcharge. The chicken is delicious, moist and crunchy. Would definitely visit again next time I’m in Cardiff.
