I was assured over and over again that the grilled wings would be prepared separately and that the BBQ sauce was 100% gluten free. Within 3 hours of my meal I was VERY sick, and I was sick the entire next day. I definitely ate gluten - it was just cross contamination either. I think it was in the sauce. I emailed corporate and got no response, and I left two messages for the manager to call me and got no response. NEVER AGAIN.
They have a gluten free menu that's printed but they do not practice cross contamination prevention. When you order the wings be aware that they are cooked with wings that are not gluten free, their boneless wings. They will tell you that they only cook wings in a fryer and technically that is true except that some of them are not gluten free. Staff is uneducated on allergies and management seems to care less at this location. I would have given them no star simply for being lied to and then getting sick later on but unfortunately I cannot do that and leave a review.
Almost no one in the place and it takes forever to get anything.
We were told they were privately owned and didn't have any gluten free selections
Everyone working here was unfriendly and definitely unaware of gluten free. Had no menu and told me there were no food options for me. Don't bother with this place. Visit the one in clermont fl. They have a gf menu and much nicer
Food was awesome! Had the grilled Mahi with mesquite seasoning! Looking forward to the next visit, just don't be in a hurry!
Gluten free buns on menu but not available. Ranch dressing was on gluten free menu but we were told by waitress it really has gluten. Wings were excellent and no reactions!
So yummy! They have a gluten free menu- make sure to ask for it when you get there. Staff is pretty well aware. You can have the wings but not the boneless. You can also have the chicken lettuce wraps which I highly recommend!! The food is very good! So excited I found a restaurant that offers wings!
Hurricane Grill in clermont has a gluten "sensitive" menu but it appears they have no knowledge or training in preparing celiac or allergy friendly food. I spoke with the manager and was very uncomfortable with her answers so I chose to eat nothing.
Gluten free means nothing to the servers, management or cooks. They do have GF buns but some sides are made with soy sauce...definitely NOT a Gluten Friendly place. ..stay away!!!
full of cross-contamination (all cooking surfaces are shared, listed on bottom of menu) waitresses had no idea what gluten is... my chowder came out with glutenfull crackers on the side, therefore chef was not informed or shows they are not careful. went home sick to my stomach. will not eat there again. Not... celiac friendly at all.
I tried it and loved the food. I had a chicken salad with jambalaya rice and had no problems. My only complaint was that its a noisy atmosphere. but tge manager was very nice and so was our waitor. I would go back again. My bf had the burger on the gf bun and loved it. We had no attacks.
Awful!!!!!!!! Where to even begin with this place!! After a day of shopping just wanted to sit back relax watch the football game have a couple of beers. Ordered a cheeseburger, stated no pickles please "allergic" cheeseburger came with pickles, told waitress , she brought out ticket to prove she wrote no pickles- instead of just taking burger back to make right. She did offer me Benadryl however by then I had taken my own. Ate my fries and tried to be pleasant. As we were leaving I told her they needed to be very careful about their practice, she brought the owner over who instead of apologizing only accused us of wanting our bill comped!! Really???? Take my word for it pickles aside the food sucked and management was worse than that!!!! Even if they gave me a year of free food I would never go back again. But I will tell everyone I know!!!!!! Rate -0000000
I would avoid this place like the plague if you have even the slightest bit gluten intolerant. The server had no knowledge of the gluten free offerings, and to make matters worse after serving me a chicken sandwich on a regular bun they sent back the same piece of chicken as if putting it on a gluten free the second time made it alright. If there was a way to rate a restaurant below one star I would have.
Great little local chain. They have a separate gluten free menu with a decent amount of options to choose from and offer gluten free buns! Only con was that my gf bun came out fairly soggy. I'd ask for toppings on the side :)
Fantastic food vary caring staff when it comes to dealing with a celiac disease guest! The sweet waitress was so wonderful at making sure cross contamination did not happen! My food was great and I will be eating there every time I come to Bemidji . As its the only celiac safe place in the area and they do great to accommodate :)
Gluten Free Menu. Dedicated fryer.
They now have a GF menu including GF buns for their burgers, fish and chicken sandwiches. Good food, good service.
They are very well educated about gluten allergies and are extremely careful. They have a separate GF menu that you have to ask for. When we get takeout, they clearly label the GF meal and even pack it in a separate bag. The food is amazing and they have WINGS that are not breaded and cooked in their own fryer with dozens of options of GF sauces and seasonings
Not sure where they get their GF buns from, but they are really good. Burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. Only thing missing was I wish the bun was floated or at least toasted - but maybe they don't have a clean place to do it?? Husband had the wings with honey chipotle BBQ sauce. The wings were big and meaty. Husband felt that the sauce was not hot enough. The server graciously had the kitchen remake the wings and helped my husband create his own spicy wing sauce This was our first visit to a Hurricane Grill & Wings and I would like to comment about the decor. It's decorated with a very island/beachy/tropical feel. The lighting is VERY bright a maybe they are going for the feel of a bright, sunny day at the beach? They play country music and husband and I found the volume to he just a little too loud - we had to raise our voices to have a conversation. Despite this, the service and food were good, so we will be back.
great service very helpful, they have a cider, gluten free options for wings and dinner/lunch options. I don't know about severe celiac but I'm intolerant quite bad and no problems. had wings and quesadillas( corn tortillas), they cook everything in separate fryers from what the manager told us who was very friendly. and I am dairy intolerant to and they were very accommodating for that as well. A+
