When I pulled up to this place and saw The Iron Gate, it look kind of scary and I said to my wife I’m not going into this place. I judge the book by its cover, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. it’s an old Victorian brown stone home converted to a restaurant. Great experience. My son has a Gluten and dairy allergy. He order he ordered the gluten free, dairy, pancakes also have vegan options. It was delicious. Would definitely recommend! this place.

There are only 3 decent places in the Capital District to get a gluten-free breakfast. This is the best one. I am not an egg eater so my options are limited.

Excellent food. My partner has gluten, rice, oats and diary sensitivities. For French toast they made new batter just for her! They also said in the future we could make our own bread.

Check their website to see what the wait time is for seating. You can add your name to the list before you arrive, in case the wait is long.
A couple of nice gf brunch options. Once I said I was celiac, the server told me that the staff would grill gf toast separately for me.

Being Celiac and traveling is so difficult and I’m always skeptical of “gluten free” claims. But Iron Gate proved me wrong! I ordered the GF pancakes and they were THE BEST!! I almost couldn’t tell they were GF. I was skeptical, but three days later and I can safely say I’ve had no issues. Will return today for lunch!

Super cute hidden gem! Beautiful outdoor sitting area or lovely dining in a quaint Victorian house. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, food absolutely amazing! No digestive issues 😀

Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. A few items are clearly marked gluten free but they’re very accommodating and flexible. I had the vegan French toast with gluten free bread and no granola. I do wish they’d mark what can be changed and what can’t but otherwise a lovely lovely place!

This place was so cute! It is in a house with lots of Victorian features. The breakfast was delicious. I am severely gluten intolerant. The waitress made sure my meal was gluten-free. She put it on my order even when I forgot to. It was because I asked about how they prepared their potatoes. She was looking out! They prepare your food in separate pans and away from the other "regular" food.

I’ve been here several times and even when they’re extremely busy I feel like they are extremely receptive to me saying I’m gluten free. Can’t speak for the other food but I’ve gotten the farmer’s hash every time and it was delicious every single time and I didn’t feel sick at all!

Great experience. I ordered the french toast and asked for GF bread. It was delicious. Would definitely recommend! They also had gf/vegan pancakes on the menu and a great many vegan options that doubled as gf.

The club chicken sandwich was great. The bread was schar- like, tasty, and had good texture. The prices were very reasonable. They have a wide array of breakfast items too, including gf pancakes.

Had a fantastic experience here! My dad and I (both celiac) had brunch here and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I had the Phoenix Rising eggs benedict, which was so delicious. The home fries aren't usually celiac-safe as they're dipped in a shared fryer, but the chef kindly prepared some for me from scratch without using the fryer (and they were so tasty!). 10/10 would recommend - I felt very safe and so appreciated the staff going out of their way to accommodate our needs.

Was amazed at the amount of gluten free options. Went for brunch and ordered GF pancakes. Explained my situation and server understood perfectly and reassured me they’ll be extra careful. The quality was wonderful, those pancakes were amazing as well as the syrup, the jam, and the fruits that came along with it. It was a very filling meal and I was very happy at the end of it. The atmosphere is welcoming, casual, cozy. Felt safe eating. Will visit again if I’m in the area.

Seemed aware of cross contact. No separate toaster, so they toasted the gf bread on the flat top grill. Food was diner style but a little more expensive than a diner meal. 5 stars on safety and service, 4 on food.

They have a variety of GF options on the menu which all sounded good. Had a great salad. They knew about cross-contamination and I felt confident about them making sure it was celiac friendly.
Very nice place. Fast seating, excellent service and scrumptious food. All the omelets are GF and look great. I had the caprese. Yum. The coffee was also very good. I had three cups
Food was fresh, local, and offered gluten free/dairy free options. I loved that they offered Saratoga Gluten Free Goods bread! I enjoyed French toast w/ maple sausage and my husband had the Elvis Memphis Scramble w/ toasted cornbread. Everything was delicious! Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. Tea served was Harney and Sons (bonus!). We live 45min away but are in Delmar twice a month so we will definitely make this our breakfast stop!
Yes
We had the Bacado Omlete, elvis memphis scramble and stuffed french toast The waitress was very aware of their menu what was GF and what wasn’t, where substitutions could be made. See the photos!

Got a BLT special and it was able to be put on GFree bread. The waitress took the time to go back to the kitchen to make sure everything was fine and that it was GFree. Bread was a little thick for me and some bites had the common "gluten free" aftertaste that I've tried to avoid for so long. Probably would get it without the bread next time
So many gf and vegan options! All delicious. Well worth it!
Their black bean burger done as a salad is positively addicting. The dressing has a kick and their veggies are extremely fresh. They also make great mimosas for brunch although the brunch menu is harder to do gf. I've had them substitute fruit for the home fries.
Not many GF options (other than eggs, fruit, bacon); even homefries have gluten in them. Staff is friendly & attempts to assist, but there is not much to work with.
