Irving offers gluten free bread, and if you let them know it’s an allergy, the kitchen staff will make sure it’s prepared separately from gluten. I have eaten there many times and not gotten sick. They usually have at least one gf pastry on rotation - although all pastries are in a shared case, separate platters.

Not safe for celiacs. I give them A LOT of credit for the pastries/breads/treats they have: they look and taste delectable and the good intent is there. I genuinely believe they want to meet the demand for GF options.
I got sick a few times and decided to watch how things were being handled, and figured it out quickly.
The cross contamination is the issue: saw someone use the same tongs she used to get a muffin to get a GF treat.
They get busy, so I totally understand. If you’re avoiding gluten and you don’t have Celiac Disease, this place might work for you!

1) My husband and I went for coffee and a sweet. I got nervous immediately: the GF items are stored in close proximity to the regular desserts. NOT SAFE for celiac patients.
If that wasn't enough, we watched the woman at the counter use the SAME TONGS she had just handled gluten-containing cookies with to handle our dessert....which meant, my husband got to eat dessert on his own.
2) A friend went a few weeks ago to pick us up lunch, assuring me that she had eaten there safely as someone with Celiac (I have NCGS). She ordered a sandwich on GF bread for us to split and the bread wasn't GF: it looked just like the white bread my husband orders. She called and let the staff know, and they offered to make a new one....which we absolutely did not want.
She messaged the FB page to ask for a refund: $10 for a lunch neither of us could safely eat. They saw the message, didn't bother responding.
Won't be back, and PLEASE AVOID if you need to avoid gluten because of NCGS or Celiac Disease. It's not worth getting sick.

My first visit was for breakfast. I ordered my eggs and toast GF. They offer Udis bread. However the toaster is NOT safe. On other visits I had the bread unitoasted or toasted on the grill. Good egg dishes , salads, sandwiches. There was a gf zucchini bread that I did not try. They roast their own coffee beans. This is a popular local hangout. Nice staff. Cozy

Cannot say that they have a dedicated gf area. But they have knowledgable staff. Great pastrami Ruben.
Great staff. Delicious GF breads, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, etc.
