Maybe other things on the menu are better. But good god. I ordered the tamale and it was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. My family is from New Mexico so let me tell you I was not expecting it to come out with an entire can of hornells chili on it. How is this the dish they are advertising so heavily? I did not get gluten sick but I felt like I was going to hurl from how nasty it was, we had to take a walk around the building before going home haha. My husband said his regular burger was pretty bad too. Don’t think I will be back here, memorable experience to say the least.

I’m not sure why I’ve not ever taken the time to rate Izzy’s before. They have SO MANY amazing items in the menu that are GF and a separate menu for GF. They also have a vegan menu as well.

I was happily surprised to find that Izzy’s had a completely separate gluten free menu. I was very pleased with how transparent they are about how they do their best to prevent cross contamination, but do advise that it is a shared kitchen (this was most obvious in the sandwich section of the gluten free menu where they advised that anyone with celiac NOT order a sandwich because there’s too much cross). Looking for something relatively light, I mobile ordered a twice baked potato and a side salad. I received a text when my food was ready (which was ironically the minute I parked) and when I asked to confirm that my food was GF the hostess was cheerful and happy to confirm. The GF menu was so extensive, I might make a second visit to Izzy’s during my stay in Little Rock, just to experience more of their food.

Best gluten free burger in Little Rock. I have never had any cross contamination issues at Izzy’s.

They don’t guarantee gluten free on anything even with bread. I got a burger without the bun and sweet potato fries which are cooked in canola (not soy!). I really wanted a burger with bun but decided not to chance it. We got the dip sampler and it was good too. No reactions.
Very good food and the staff was really nice

Cross Contamination issues. If you have Celiac Disease, don't eat here.

So because this restaurant was recommended by the owner of a gluten free bakery, I decided to try it. However, through a couple of menu selections trying to be "safe" (because I don't eat this way for "dietary" purposes, which by the way, is a bunch of garbage) I was informed I could NOT be accommodated by using a fresh pair of gloves during my food prep. I was only choosing the nachos since all ingredients are naturally gluten free and my thoughts were fresh gloves could bring a little more assurance but the manager on duty tonight said they CANNOT make any changes including the gloves...we have left and will NEVER go back.

Izzy's has such an amazing selection of gluten free foods from tamales to soups to sandwiches. Not only is it gluten free, their food is delicious! With amazing food, friendly staff, and great service, Izzy's is all around 5 stars.
Offer great GF options. A mainstay for the GF dinner in West Little Rock.

They just don't get it. These people think g-f is a diet fad. We've had several decent experiences at Izzy's (by ordering 'safe' menu items). This time we allowed our celiac daughter to splurge and try the g-f strawberry shortcake. The cake was g-f. The strawberries and ice cream were g-f, but guess what? After our daughter started throwing up, they admitted that they use the SAME ice cream scoop for all desserts! It most certainly touched a piece of cake or glutenized brownie at some point during the day. Some minor measures to prevent cross contamination would help tremendously, but they obviously don't care. When we asked, we were told by the cashier that their g-f menu was only for 'dieting purposes'!

I just ate the GF strawberry shortcake and it is amazing

The server (one of the servers was one of the best I've ever had) , but hasn't had enough time to read the menu. It actually comes from Dempsey.
This is one of my favorite places to eat gluten free. The staff is all aware and they take a great amount of pride in providing gluten free dishes. the chips and cheese dip here are GF and they're delicious!
