I found this place on my Find Me GlutenFree app because of my gluten/wheat allergy I need to find safe places. We brought my wife’s mom here for a nice lunch.
First thing, I will say it’s not handicap accessible. There are 3 big steps with no railings to get inside and outside.
Second thing, It looks like a tiny cafe but there is actually a bigger area with big tables seating 4-6 folks. They have an outdoor seating as well. The atmosphere is amazing. It brings me back to cafes I would go to when I was younger. Meeting friends to play board games or do cute little coffee dates or lunch dates. These are the vibes here.
We walked in and I instantly made sure to ask about the gluten free bread being made somewhere else and to be careful on cross contamination. They were compliant I order their chai latte with oat milk. I bought one raspberry shortbread cookie (gluten free).
We found a table and sat down after we were told they would bring it to the table. Service was fast and it was even nice when they came back to ask if everything was good!
Suggest trying whatever is made in the gluten free section. The raspberry almond shortbread cookie was amazing and so was the blueberry muffin.
Highly recommend checking this place out!

We’ve eaten here 3 times now, all without issue and will keep coming back again! This place understands Celiac safe gluten free. They’re very careful, make food in the back, Make sure everything is wrapped in layers before going on the panini press, etc. we’ve tried both breakfast and lunch sandwiches and many of the gf pastries, all of which are delicious. I also love the espresso. Everything is great, but I’ll especially keep coming back for the eggplant, mozzarella, and sundried tomato pesto sandwich!

Owners are very aware of gluten allergies / Celiac's, they have regulars who come in and eat here regularly (several came by while we were eating here).
The service was amazing, I had a pork sandwich - it was amazing - and my wife had eggplant with fresh mozzarella sandwich (has actual fresh made mozzarella)! We each got a coffee, fresh made coffee cake (surprisingly moist, fluffy and very large). We plan on coming back while we are staying here, food is amazing, service is amazing and they have great atmosphere.

This is the safest and most celiac-friendly establishment in the Village of Montgomery. The owner, Davide, truly understands what you need if you are celiac, and NEVER cross-contaminates. You can get your choice of soups, sandwiches and bakery items while RELAXING! If you are gluten-free and hate trying to eat out (because you’re tired of having to explain how important gluten FREE is) come see Davide. He has vegan options, too. ALL HOMEMADE. He knows all of his ingredients, and he is a great chef! Java Blue is a refuge for all gluten-free people.

Found this little cafe while looking for a bakery which was closed. Not disappointed though. I found this little treasure! Got a piece of berry pie, and a scone, both gluten free. Not going to lie, I had to try it before getting it home. I had a some of the crust with a couple of berries and a corner of the scone. Oh my word! Both are delicious. Along with a matcha late. Love these little unexpected finds. Small business owners seem to put more love into what they make over commercial stores. This is so so so much better!! Should I emphasize the so a little more!! 😋
