Had the chips and queso and then a carne asada taco and bangin cauliflower taco. Everything was tasty. The server was very helpful when I asked about if I needed to specify I was gluten free.

NO dedicated frier-Despite their best efforts to convince some folks there is one. Not sure why they’d do that. They were straight up w/me on the phone that they don’t dedicate a space for GF. Also, they closed early on a Friday, so we showed up for margs & a taco 45 minutes before close (on a Friday on Main Street!) and the staff was locking up. They claim their website lists incorrect hours. Whatever.
When I went back to try again this week, found out this place isn’t celiac safe except for the street tacos. Also I paid $22 + tax for a mezcal margarita during happy hour 🙄 Overall wouldn’t say it’s necessarily celiac safe..but also not sure it isn’t..

Fantastic food, and they were very knowledgeable about gluten free cross contamination.

i get sick about half the time i have gone, which is a shame since i used to come here almost every day. I haven't zeroed in on whether it's the chips or the tortillas (or something else). They are honest and about their surfaces/cross-contamination risks, but i used to feel confident saying "i accept the risks" and eating here, but not any more

I love Jefes! I always make sure my waiter is aware that I have celiac disease. I’ve never had a problem with cross contamination.

We have eaten here several times and have always had a great experience! The chips are fried in a separate fried. I ask every time and the staff are knowledgeable. They have one item that contains gluten and it’s fried separately. The food is delicious.

Staff was very accommodating. Food was delicious.

A previous reviewer said the chips are fried in a shared fryer, but they are NOT. I’ve been here multiple times and have spoken to the chef and managers and everyone has told me each and every time that the chips are fried in a dedicated GF fryer. That is one of the reasons I love this place and keep coming back to it! I’ve never gotten sick and I’m a sensitive celiac. It is so nice to have chips and guacamole, queso, or salsa at a restaurant! The tacos are also delicious! Highly recommend!

the menu says the chips are gluten free but they are fried in a shared frier.

The sqauavacado (squash and avocados) tacos were delicious! Chips are GF but are fried in the same oil that's used for items that contain gluten. Our server was very knowledgeable about their gluten free choices. I will go back again!

They have changed the name to Jefes Tacos and Tequila. Went last night with 8 people. I'm the only Celiac. We all loved it. I had the Seared Ahi Taco and the Squashacado Taco. Both were excellent and no problems. Warning that the fryer is not gluten free so the chips, although stated gluten free on the menu, are not. Also the website is Jefeslongmont.com . The one listed above doesn't work.

Excellent food! Enchiladas were delicious. Chips GF too!
New restaurant and 80% of their menu has GF listed next to the items. Had the chips and salsa and 2 Hefe style street tacos and felt great afterwards. Will be back!
