My 2.5 year old daughter has celiac disease and going out to eat is a serious issue. Cross contamination is a problem that many restaurants just don't understand. Except for this place. The owner was absolutely amazing and accommodating. I called ahead to make sure it was safe and he gave me such information about how they have separate gluten free fryers and how anything can be made gluten free. When we arrived they were already ready for us and walked me through again how all his specials, soups and desserts were always gluten free and how almost anything could be made gluten free for her. He understood how cross contamination is detrimental to someone with celiac disease and even the entire wait staff was aware of my daughter's condition and was incredibly helpful. In addition to all their help...the food was great! This is absolutely a place we will frequent whenever we're in the area.

I have celiac and It was fantastic. I can only eat at a few restaurants and had a wonderful experience. The owner came over and talked to me personally, gave me samples of things just to try(without me asking) and cooked my food himself. Definitely going back!

We have been here twice and likely wouldn't return. First time was several months back and the GF food was pretty good, but not good enough to pull us back for several months.

Went back and had a very poor experience. I asked my usual GF questions and ended up with a burger on wrap. Burger was ok, but not special and fries were oil soaked and soggy.

My wife and my brother were there as well (both not GF), he ordered mac n cheese and my wife asked if the eggplant appetizer was naturally GF. She usually asks this so I know if I can try a bite.

My brother said his mac n cheese was lackluster. My wifes eggplant was pretty tasty. The issue comes when it turns out that they charged my wife $2 for a GF eggplant. All they did was leave off the garlic bread and the eggplant wasn't breaded.

So evidently the waitress misunderstood the question, which is fine, but why would you charge $2 to leave bread off of a plate?

Then it turns out my brother was charged $2 for GF mac and cheese, which would explain why he thought it was lackluster.

The waitress went back to the owner, who didn't come to speak with us. She came back and apologized and tried to give us $2 out of her own pocket, we obviously refused, but it was awkward, especially since it was obvious the owner didn't want to hear about any complaints.

I see no reason to return, the owner obviously didn't care to speak with us and the food was average at best.

To be fair, I am giving them 2 stars, because they do have a good selection of GF choices.

I haven't actually been to Jersey Grille yet but I was impressed with the person who answered the phone. The menu sounds great and most items are gluten free I will recommend this restaurant to my son who has Celiac.

When we first saw this place we almost made a u turn because it's in a strip mall but the restaurant was really quite nice inside and the food makes up for the location. I'm finding most of my favorite restaurants with a GF menu are in strip malls but each was a wonderful eating experience. Jersey Grill was a stop over the summer as we passed through on our way to The Macaroon shop in Bradley Beach for my gf desserts. This restaurant has many fresh selections including beef and seafood. update: sadly I have to update and say the meal I had a few months ago has completely changed as I think that chef is gone. Ive been twice more hoping too have that amazing chicken Marsala and both times it was scaled back too thin patties and tiny mushrooms unlike the large ones I had. Presentation was lacking as well with it served more diner style then put together so brilliantly I actually took a picture the first time.

Amazing options. Owner, Lee, came out several times to check on us and see how we were doing. Server was very knowledgeable and made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. They keep separate cooktops and plates etc. for gluten-free... A must for celiac!

Really great service, the chef came out and talked to us and said he could make pretty much anything gluten free if we asked. The meals were great and the deserts were to die for (including the gf carrot cake- something I haven't had in 10 years!)

Lots of gluten free options! I had chicken piccata and it was delicious. The pasta is one of the best gluten free pastas I've ever tried and they even had gluten free desserts. The service was slow and the waitress a little unfriendly, but we weren't in a rush so it was okay.

A very knowledgable chef. I feel safe eating here! They have menu items marked with a GF to let you know what they can make gluten free but they are also willing to make other dishes gluten free if it is possible. They have a designated gluten free fryer - hello French fries! I had GF crab cakes that were delicious, perfectly seasoned and crab in every bite! My husbands brisket was mouthwatering. And we also had a GF dessert - chocolate mousse cake with raspberry ganache. We will be going back and also want to try their breakfast! They have a GF Mac and cheese I will be calling ahead to have prepped sometime as well! Highly recommend this BYOB celiac friendly gem!

-------------

Update: We have been here several times. Food is always great, have had no problems with gluten free meals - everything has been safe and delicious. The one downfall is the service. We waited over an hour for a table one night, watched several people get seated before us who didn't even have reservations. But they were bigger parties. As if that wasn't bad enough when we did finally get seated, I never got the side salad I ordered and our drinks were always empty. Owner came to say hi and apologized for the wait but didn't bother to take anything off the bill or even comp an appetizer. Small things like that can go a long way.

The food is great... Fresh, safe- it's a great thing! But the waitresses are possibly stretched too thin- never attentive enough and forgetting things. Add on the obvious rudeness of skipping over waiting customers for larger parties... It leaves a bad taste in your mouth - no matter how awesome the food is.

Delish! We were all able to get different pasta dishes made GF - the Kobe Bolognese and the Primavera were fantastic. The kids had sliders without buns and pasta with olive oil. The staff was very helpful and we will definitely be back!
