I started by letting the waitress know that I have celiac disease. She knew what it meant and pointed out the few things on the menu that were gluten free. She did not know if they had a dedicated fryer and did not offer to check. She told me one of the specials was gluten free and it happened to be being served at the table next to us so she pointed it out to me. It looked good and sounded appealing so I ordered it. When it came out, however, it did not look like what I had seen served and instead had breading on it. When we altered the waitress she seemed confused and went to inquire with the kitchen. A couple moments later she reappears and takes the plate saying "they" would remake it for me. She offered a quick perfunctory apology and was off. Meanwhile my date had his food so for about 10 minutes I'm sitting there awkwardly while he eats. When the dish did come out it was really yummy but the mood of the night had kind of been spoiled by then. This place isn't "fancy" but the food is really high quality and is priced accordingly. I would expect at a place like this to have the wait staff put a note on the ticket stating "gluten free" as I've had at most restaurants I've been to when I tell them I'm celiac so I was surprised by the lack of care taken by this place. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone with a serious food allergy.
