First time to have chicken and waffles in years! Just like I remembered, perfect combo. Very friendly service. Will eat here every time I visit Phoenix. Please open a spot in the airport!
All of the bakery items are divine. The menu items are all pretty good, but I definitely prefer the bakery items. I'm not a fan of their homemade sausage, it lacks any flavor complexity and is too heavy on the onion. But, for a celiac it is a safe and delightful, delicious, dining out option.
Wife loves this place. I cant wait to try it. She drives 30 miles to eat hear because there are so few gf options in the West Valley. Please open another location out west.
Our new favorite place!
Best place to eat if you are a celiac! waffles are amazing!
So awesome! Had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! My husband is not GF and he said it was the best he's ever had! Everything is GF!
Feeling safe in a restaurant is a rare thing indeed! Incredible treat, coffee and food to eat, along with a happy friendly staff! No gluten is allowed anywhere near the place. Even the staff, if they bring their own lunches, are required to adhere to the gluten free promise. Try it, you will love it and feel safe!
EAT HERE! Heaven. Had gf chicken & waffles for the first time ever, and they were so good my non-Celiac husband ordered a second waffle. Beef stroganoff was also good. Just wish they weren't out of donuts by the time we got there! :)
Outstanding selection, and quality! The fried chicken and waffle was amazing, the donuts light and delicious. So nice to have so many choices: not only gluten free but vegan, and dairy free options. Planned my return before I even left.
It's always a relief to find a dedicated GF restaurant so I don't have to negotiate my meal. I ordered chicken and waffle and really liked it, and my husband enjoyed his beef stroganoff. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and we were served quickly (we arrived around 5 pm for an early dinner). The waffle was crisp..and every bit as good as one made with wheat - we really couldn't tell the difference. The baked goods looked yummy, but we were too full to try them. I would definitely eat there again when I'm in Phoenix.
I used to live in AZ and it wasn't until I moved out of state that I was diagnosed with Celiac. I travel to AZ frequently so I was more than pleasantly surprised upon a return trip to stumble across Jewels. To be completely honest my first thought when it came up on the app was "oh thank goodness ANOTHER gluten free bakery to help fulfill my baked good desires" (anyone with Celiac gets this...if you don't get it, get Celiac and you'll understand!) I reluctantly decided to try it with my visiting parents (my mom also has Celiac) and pleasantly surprised would be unfair to say. The food is unbelievable and the portions are, let's just say you're gonna be satisfied for a few hours when you leave minus the bloating! While the Chicken and Waffles have remained my favorite (it was the first thing I ever tried), everything and I mean EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious. I live in Vegas and am constantly trying to talk them into opening here because in addition to the food, the syrup they give you for the waffle is something special. I highly recommend this awesome restaurant to anyone....and even better they are now open for dinner, which means more trips to AZ!
I had been eating here when I would travel into town for work the past few years and while the food was fantastic, I could not figure out why I would get extremely sick every time I visited Phoenix. It turns out, it was Jewel's that was making me ill. I cannot eat oats (on top of having celiac disease) and on my first visit here when I asked the staff about what items contained oats, they said "Oh you'll be fine, just avoid the items with oats on top." Turns out, just about everything has oats in it, which I did not discover until a recent trip to town. I'm not sure if the staff was playing some sort of trick on me because they just assumed that I was lying or over exaggerating, however it was extremely disappointing to discover because I had become extremely ill multiple times prior and never made the connection because this is such a loved and well known business with the reputation of being safe for celiacs and individuals with additional food sensitivities. The food here is absolutely phenomenal but if you have any form of additional food sensitivity I would be cautious as the staff did not appear to answer my initial inquiries seriously and I paid the price because of it.
had a burger on flax seed roll. I believe I ate.the cow, along with what the cow ate... the roll did not warrant a return visit
they use oats in everything. literally. they even said the omelette has a high probability of cross contamination. most celiac are also allergic to oats and it seems this place is cutting as many gluten free corners as possible to serve the fad gluten free people instead of true celiacs. drove 30 minutes to waste my time. extremely disappointed
Gluten free chicken and waffles - need I say more???
I called to ask about their use of oats in their products. They were short with their answers to my questions and not friendly or helpful. I found out they use oats in their flour mix so all of their bakery products and a lot of their cafe products contain oats. As a Celiac that cannot do any kind of oats, I will not be eating here.
Very good tasting food. Even my non celiac wife loved he food. It is worth giving it a try. The bakery items are a welcome treat to take home for later.
Just arrived in Phoenix and spent two days looking for gf groceries and dining. This place is great! Had the grilled chicken sandwich and cheeses cake, delicious and hours later no issues! Great menue choices! One thought, I understand Hunts ketchup contains gluten yet it was on their tables. Correct me if I am wrong.
Love this place! Excellent gluten free food!
Just had a great Belgian waffle with strawberries. Love the variety and friendly people. Great place!
What a wonderful way to sooth my sweet tooth!
Excellent! Had biscuits and gravy (gravy could have been spicier) and purchased a great loaf of bread. I will visit again when I return to Scottsdale area.
Amazing!! I was so so excited to find a dedicated gf restaurant, I seriously tried almost everything and it was all yummy! Even my non-celiac husband loved everything we tried.
This place is amazing. It was so nice to be at a restaurant and know I could have everything on the menu and not become sick. The food was so yummy, it makes you forget you're eating GF.
As a newbie to the gluten free world, it was nice to come here, enjoy lunch and have a dessert. I didn't need to ask all the questions you have to when ordering out! Everything was a yes I can have that! It was also amazing!
a must if you are GF
I absolutely adore Jewel's Cafe and have written many reviews - check out my latest on http://glutenfreegalaxy.com/jewels-cafe-bakery/!
It's wonderful to go into a restaurant knowing you can safely order anything on the menu. My kiddos are always so happy to eat here.
The food was amazing. Lots of great options that I haven't seen other places. Also some dairy free options that are gf. The entire facility is gf. Only downside is they aren't really kid friendly.
Absolutely amazing food! Everything is gluten free and delicious! The staff is kind and courteous. My friend and I have been here three times and it is definitely some of the best gluten free food we have had. I only wish it was open later.
this place is AMAZING! highly recommend for any celiac... they also have dairy free options :)
The entire menu is GF! Their donuts and French Toast were to die for and their grits were delish too! Even my non GF boyfriend loved his breakfast! 5 stars!! 👍👍👍👍👍
LOVE LOVE LOVE their amazing desserts!
Jewel's Café and Bakery is a cozy space that provides the much-needed relief from fears of traditional dining out with celiac disease and her menu is just exquisite. Her S'mores pie with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow fluff and milk chocolate are enough to make anyone exclaim, "Is this really gluten-free?!" Locals are also raving about her flaky buttermilk biscuits and gravy saying they are rich, filling and full of flavor.
The food was really good and the portions are large. My son really enjoyed the cookie he had as well. They also sell clothing.
A GF person's piece of heaven. Totally safe to eat here no outside food is allowed in. The menu is diverse and full of choices. I only wish I lived close by!!
Go here! You will love it. Had my first GF donut that had all the decadence a glazed donut should have, yum yum yumminess! Great latte, too. Friendly service with a nice atmosphere.
Had the Chicken and Waffles dish. First-time. It is delicious! All the offers are GF and they have plenty.
Awesome chicken and nice assortment of pastries. Unexpected treat in Phoenix!
No excuses anymore! This food is so good in its own right and it just happens to be gf too. So thrilled with the chicken and waffles and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the donuts. I wish I lived closer!
So happy to have found this place on vacation. Everything we ate was fantastic!
Fried chicken is amazing! Very knowledgable about other allergies too.
I love this place have the fried chicken is awesome and the red velvet cake is amazing!
the best food. love this place. friendly service. cute restaurant. it's so wonderful to dine in a restaurant with no worries of gluten.
I had the chicken and waffles, AMAZING! Have eaten there multiple times with everything being so tasty!
Everything is amazing!!!!
Visit on a regular basis. Can't rave enough about this place. Heaven sent!
Heaven on earth for celiacs. Adorable cafe open for breakfast and lunch. Amazing food and treats. One of my new favorites.
Great selection! What a relief it is to eat in a dedicated restaurant. Lots of choices, no fear of contamination. The doughnuts are amazing, waffles too. BE ADVISED: It was brought to my attention that they use(gf) oat flour in many of their recipes, which can irritate some with Celiac Disease. No trouble for me, just a great brunch!
Amazing place! We had the stuffed French toast and pancake platter. They both were the best tasting GF options my wife has had since being diagnosed with Celiac. Highly recommend this place!!
Some work needed for the biscuits and pecan bars but the rest of the food AMAZING
Delicious! We are from Utah and found this amazing 100 percent dedicated gluten free place. First day was at lunch. I enjoyed the poblano deluxe burger with homemade fries, yum!!! Today we went back for breakfast and I had biscuits and gravy!! We will miss this place in Utah!!!
100% gf menu, guys!! I've gotten the chicken and waffles, grilled cheese, chicken soup, quiche, breakfast sandwich and I have to get a chocolate donut every time I go. The restaurant itself is super cute, the staff is friendly and they have TONS of options! If you've just been diagnosed and you're feeling lost without your favorite foods, come to Jewel's, squash all frustration and get a top notch gf meal :)
I had the Pablano Burger for lunch. So good. I will definitely be back, even if I have to go out of my way. I took to go a pecan pie bar and chocolate scone - both delish! So glad it is a dedicated facility. The chef came out and asked me how my meal was, and Julie was around as well. overall great vibe and high marks for customer service!
They're amazing! I usually eat there a couple times a week. The food is great!!
Apple pie is wonderful!!! Love the cupcakes! Everything is very high quality.
friendly staff, delicious pancakes, great atmosphere, great that everything is gluten free so no cross contamination. my friend who isn't celiac said her pancakes tasted as good as regular ones! addition: went again with my husband and he says the toast is just like regular toast! I had the biscuits and gravy, they were so good, and a large portion.the sausage and home fries are yummy too. their cinnamon rolls are amazing!
looks yummy. Go early for best selection.
Great place, the good is simply and technically decadent. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The macaroons are to die for, and the entrees are amazing. Everything is gluten free, the non gluten free in our family loved it. Highly recommended.
Love this place! We traveled here from Pittsburgh, PA and wish we had something like this at home. Loved the donuts, the quiche, the cupcakes, EVERYTHING. Even my very picky non g-free daughter, who generally refuses to eat anything g-free, loved it. Go there. Now.
Had to visit this recommended bakery on our way to Sedona, and it was absolutely worth the extra effort. Best gluten free bakery I've been to with so many choices. Cupcakes, cookies, macaroons, cinnamon rolls, donuts, breads, soft pretzels, brownies, pies, as well as salads, sandwiches. Don't miss this "jewel".
Best baked goods, hands down! I drive 30 minutes there twice a month to get my fix. Only GF donuts and cinnamon rolls, out of this world! Have tired just about everything and it's all good. My husband is not GF and loves their food! Hope you try it!
You can trust the food here! All of it! I have been a customer of Julie's for over three years. First with her baked goods and now with her Cafe. I bring tons of non gf friends and they love it! My favs are the Kale cheese dip and the Greek Chicken salad and the Potato flatbread. OMG it is that good. Don't even get me started on the baked goods! Her cupcakes, brownies and cookies all rock! You won't be disappointed here!
Absolutely delicious! Will definitely come back!
Wow...everything I had during my week stay in Scottsdale was amazing.(biscuits, hash, pancakes, cupcakes, brownies...Everything) I went every day for a week.
Fantastic! All GF menu.
The best restaurant for celiacs. Everything is wonderful. My entire family loves eating here and I am the only one with celiacs.
AMAZING!!!! Brought the family up to Jewel's but didn't mention that it was a gluten free place (I am the only one gluten free in our family) we ordered bakery treats and breakfast items. As we were enjoying the pistachio donut, blueberry fritter and rocky road brownie I started to worry that maybe I had misunderstood and that these things were not gluten free. They were delicious! Not just good for gluten-free things, they could stand up to any gluten treat and still be great. I asked and they assured me that yes, everything is gluten free. :-) My family did not realize that these items were gluten free even after they ate them. Amazing taste and amazing texture. For breakfast we had bacon egg and biscuit sandwich and chorizo biscuits and gravy. The chorizo is ground fresh there on Fridays! It was about 40 minute drive each way for us to get there but SO worth the trip. I will definitely plan on going back, there are a number of amazing looking bakery items I can't wait to try. Tip: Order the rocky road brownie and ask for it to be heated, they warm it up and the marshmallows get all toasty and lightly browned.
GREAT FOOD! Adorable decor.
New to GF (by medical necessity) & Jewel's makes it a happy, easy transition. GREAT food, selection AND staff!! Our new favorite place!
The food served at this brand new cafe is absolutely wonderful. I went to the soft opening' with my non-gluten free brother and his girl friend. They said they wouldn't have guessed the bread was gluten free. We had the kale and spinach cheese dip. The flat bread was warm and soft. Grilled cheese with bacon is so tasty. Don't forget the deserts. Jewell's bakes moist and decadent cup cakes that I adore.
