GF options. Be aware of the condiments if you are celiacs. They use the spatulas on the bread.
You can order any sandwich lettuce wrapped (they call it an un-wich) If you tell them you have a gluten allergy they will change their gloves. Each sandwich is made on its own paper, so it's pretty safe. The staff at this location let me know that the roast beef that they have does contain gluten, so steer clear of that.
A lettuce sandwich is a pretty crappy option
Stayed at Stoney Creek hotel & wanted delivery (actually pizza, but no gf delivery was available). We tried our first Jimmy Johns. They were very fast and very good! Our delivery man explained that they took care in assembly of our wrap, adding that his mother is celiac & very involved in local Celiac awareness. Our food was very delicious!
Went around 3:30 pm, which is after their busy peak lunch hour. Told them I had a gluten allergy and she immediately put on fresh gloves. I ordered a turkey sandwich with avocado in a lettuce wrap. The lettuce was very fresh and big enough for a sandwich. She seemed to have covered the entire sandwich-making area with protective paper, which I think was for me. She told her coworker he couldn't work on the sandwich because he didn't have clean gloves - so she did the whole process to the end. Keep in mind, this is a place that uses bread day in and out for 99% of their customers. So if you're really really concerned about cross contamination this is a dangerous place to begin with - but my experience was good.
I'm a worker at this location and I'm also gluten intolerant. There is a different bread choice- an unwich: whatever sandwich you want in a lettuce wrap. Our location takes allergens very seriously and takes every precaution we can to avoid any reactions. Just be SURE to notify workers before hand so we can set up to make your food.
I did not get sick and their attitude towards gluten indicated they took it very seriously. However, I ordered a tuna unwich and they got both the tuna and other ingredients from the containers on the line. The sandwich preparer also wiped his fingers on his apron while making the unwich and then continued making it. They used the procedures they had been trained in and asked the shift manager who led them through the process. Probably they just need some more training.
They offer unwhich. It is a lettuce wrap. It is very filling and very delicious!
When I asked if there was gf options I was looked at if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears! The manager said the meet SHOULD be gf. They could do an u with but its prepared on the same surface and with the meat that SHOULD be gf..... I could see cross contamination would be a huge issue. It's all prepared in same place where bread is touching. I didn't take the chance and left!
the #9 Italian night club is so amazing in the lettuce wrap that I do not even miss the bread. I never feel that way.
