Word of caution to celiacs: Had a difficult time finding anywhere to eat in the Vail shopping area. This place was a small deli, appeared family owned. Their English was not very good so there was likely a language barrier, but he seemed to understand gluten allergy and the precautions I needed so I felt like it was probably ok. The owner said they had gf bread- showed me the Udi’s sandwich bread. I asked for a clean surface; they did make our sandwiches first. It was basically just gf bread and tomato, ham and cheese. Didn’t get it toasted. Only ended up eating the ham and cheese because I’m not a fan of gf sandwich bread that’s not toasted. Within 2 hrs I was so bloated, cramping, and obviously glutened. I am guessing he didn’t switch out utensils and/or the surface was not really clean. So not worth the $100 for 4 sandwiches (2 gf), 3 bags of chips and a can of soda to be sick on vacation.
