Very aware of what it takes to make sure their ice cream stays gluten free. Large selection of flavors of gluten free ice cream. Offered to use new clean scoop and get a new bucket of ice cream. I decided to get their gluten free soft serve key lime ice cream in a gluten free cone. This meant they didn’t have to use a scoop so it was very safe.

If you have a sweet tooth, you must check out Joey’s! We lined it so much that we went twice while we were in town. My daughter was so excited to have a GF cone, major bonus points! Most everything that is GF, is labeled online and on their menu inside. Plus if you have any questions, they have a binder behind the “counter” that has a list of allergens in it.

What a treat! I am gluten and dairy sensitive and I have never been able to find an ice cream shop with both dairy free and gluten free ice cream cones. Perfect end to our vacation on Sanibel Island!

Everything was clearly marked and the ice cream was amazing. They clean the ice cream scoops between each scooping regardless of request so there is little risk of cross contamination. We loved it so much we went back each night of our stay in Sanibel!

Menu is labeled for gf options. They also have gf cones! Really yummy custard soft serve!!!
The gluten free cones are kept separate and in original boxes. The owner, Joey, put on new gloves before touching the cone. When dispensing soft serve custard, Joey waisted the first couple inches to ensure no contamination from a regular cone. So difficult to get gluten free custard and cone where you feel safe to eat it. Joey’s Custard is the best!!
Delicious
Very friendly and clean.

Been twice this week already. The chalkboard menu denotes what is gf so that certainly helps not having to ask about each one. Lots of unique options. Gf cake and sugar cones available.

The chocolate/vanilla custard twist was delicious. I am corn free also and this is the first time I’ve found custard not made with corn syrup. Yum!

This place was a dream! The owner (Joe) has a family member with Celiac so he was so helpful in knowing what to suggest and how to avoid cross contamination. I had the Santiva and Almond Joy custard with a GF waffle cone. All options were clearly marked. Best custard I’ve had since in years! Amazing custard and staff! Don’t wait until your last vacation (like me) day to try this gem!

First time since I was diagnosed I felt comfortable eating an ice cream cone. I would definitely recommend!

Joey’s Frozen Custard is very knowledgeable about celiac disease. The key lime pie custard is as smooth as silk and they have both gluten free sugar cones and waffle cones available upon request!!

The most amazing dessert experience I’ve ever had! Joeys had gluten free sugar cones and cake cones. They had sorbet AND dairy free vanilla chip ice cream. It was so good we got it two days in a row. This made our trip to Florida even sweeter.
We went to Joey’s with our 7 year old Celiac daughter. We basically never eat out because she will vomit for hours if there is any cross contamination. We walked into joeys, and the owner Joey greeted us and assured us they had all of the allergy friendly options available. He has a family member with Celiac who would not come to his business unless he made it friendly for her. They have several gluten free ice creams and frozen yogurt. We opted for the frozen yogurt as there is never any gluten in the machines according to him. They also have a gf sugar and waffle cone option. Their cones are covered to protect from cross contamination. Our daughter got the key lime yogurt with waffle cone and did not get sick. We felt very confident Joey understood a Celiac’s sensitivities (he even wore gloves) and would recommend this establishment.
