Review of Jo's Famous Pizza

I was so excited to see this restaurant have such high ratings! I called this location and asked what their gf process is. The guy who answered the phone felt it was important to tell me it only comes in small and it cost $2 more. That’s all he knew.

I clarified that I wanted to know if there was a process in place to try to avoid cross contamination. He put me on hold to ask a manager and came back to say it’s cooked in the same oven.

I thanked him and asked to speak with the manager to collect a little more info. since the ratings here were good. The manager seemed uncertain about gf and cc as well, asking what I mean by cross contamination. I started to explain about clean surfaces and he just hesitated. I thanked him but explained it probably isn’t right for me if they don’t have a process in place with employees knowledgeable on it. He did not disagree and just apologized. He was friendly.

I’m not sure how they got such high ratings. Maybe it’s dependent upon the manager on duty? Not worth the risk for me. Note I did not eat here so take my rating with whatever weight you feel best.
