Said they can make a lot of things gluten free. Had the pineapple fried rice with no issues. Might want to call ahead with order. They had a lot of to-go orders so took about 45 minutes to make our order.

Ka Lae was wonderful. We were greeted by a young woman who said that she and her mother are the only chefs. She was very informed as to what was needed for gluten-free ingredients and gluten-free preparation. The food was made to order, fresh, and delicious. I (celiac) had no reaction afterward, apart from gratitude. This is a wonderful stop if you are driving around the island or on the way to/back from Green Beach or the southern cliffs.

I had the pineapple fried rice and it was delicious and had no reaction from it. There are probably more gf options but you would have to ask because the items are not marked on the menu. I would eat there again.

This place is so good we came twice in the same day. Had pad thai for lunch and then pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles (yes, it is spicy) for dinner. They are not allowing indoor seating, but you can call ahead and order to take out or sit on one of their picnic tables. The food is super fresh! They grow a lot of the ingredients.

Took a chance on this place along the highway and we are so glad we did. Said they could make the Phad Thai gf and also made a vegan stir fry for my husband. Food was fresh and delicious - (we saw the chef clipping fresh herbs from her own garden as she prepared our order!) Small kitchen - did not ask about cross contamination, as I am only intolerant and not celiac.
