Our first time at K'Bola did not disappoint. We've tried all the Cuban options in Hampton Roads and this is the only one that needs the mark (we have way better Puerto Rican than we do Cuban)--but we found it today. My Cuban-American husband was raised in Union City and Miami, and by ladies who can cook. Outside of those areas or Abuela or Bisabuela making food, it's really tough to find legit Cuban that hasn't been Americanized or is good even if it's authentic. This was really good home cooked food. From the black beans to the empanada to the croquetas (steak was good ham better of course) to the tostones even to the yuca frita which I usually don't like, it was all amazing. My hubby got the churrasco and loved it. My kids inhaled both the frijoles negro y colorado--even the rice was delicious. The most amazing thing was that we had checked Find Me GF and it had solid reviews for gluten free food, as my daughter has celiac and is very sensitive. The owners' daughter and several family members also have celiac disease and know all about cross contamination, so our server was very knowledgeable and even knew about dedicated fryers. He came running out with a new plate of yuca frita when he realized it was made in the shared fryer. It is really hard to find Cuban food where they understand, so we were so impressed by the care they took. And we over ordered--the portions are legitimately enormous--so we have 2-3 more meals to enjoy at home. This will be our regular go-to when we're in Williamsburg from now on. It was such a good experience and a great treat for my husband to have legit Cuban on Father's Day!! Thank you, K'Bola!

Great food and very helpful staff. I had the shrimp, rice and plantains and flan for dessert. However, it’s a good thing that I asked for their protocols because we found out that their fried sides and appetizers, while technically gluten free, were fried in a non-dedicated fryer so they were cross contaminated. Please be aware of this and stay away from the fried foods. There are enough other choices, which are delicious and they will use clean pans to cook in on request.

The food was very good! Had the Lechon Asado with beans and rice and plantains. The garlicky citrus mojo sauce for the roasted pork was so delicious! The server (think she was an owner)was very helpful and told me she has a daughter with celiac and the restaurant is very carful with their preparation. I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience, daughter absolutely loved it. They have a separate fryer she was able to eat the yucca fries and tostones. Very diverse GF menu. As of this morning she feels great.

The service and food was excellent! Many GF options on the menu. Sanchez was the best, he is accommodating and such a energetic happy guy! Definitely will return here. There is a nice covered outside patio too!

Food and service were excellent. Although my selection was GF, server double checked with chef after I explained that I had Celiac disease and that I could not have gluten. I had the roja viejo with mashed Cuban potatoes and black beans. Very tasty!

This place was such a find while traveling! I let the waitress choose and that was such a good idea! She chose the Ropa Vieja with black beans and plantains. Seriously the best Cuban food I have had since visiting Florida!

Recently opened in the New Town area of Williamsburg. Delicious! Most of the entrees, sides, appetizers, and desserts are gluten free (but none of the sandwiches are). The manager came out to apologize that one item I had ordered was not gf and that I could not have it if I was a celiac (I am) - they were attentive and careful! I'm very sensitive to cross-contamination and did not get sick. (My gluten-eating friend said his Cuban sandwich was excellent, btw!)
