This was my first seafood experience since being diagnosed coeliac. I reached out to Kirribilli Seafood via Facebook, and the person on the other end was incrediblg helpful. They told me they use Edlyn Chicken Salt which is gluten free, and that for gluten free options I can choose any grilled fish on the menu as they’re only grilled using olive oil and sea salt. They also said the chips are fried in a separate fryer, however they use the same oil filter machine for the battered fish fryer machine. They said their range of salad was also gluten free.
I rang up yesterday and ordered a BBQ family pack, which includes grilled fish, hot chips, grilled calamari, grilled octopus and plain scallops. I double checked on the phone that the chicken salt was gluten free, and while this guy seemed less knowledgeable than the guy running their Facebook (assumably the owner) he still went and checked for me, and it was. Officially 12 hours after the meal and I’m feeling great, and happy to have another place I can eat at!
