Kiya Sushi

I ordered a california roll ($5.50 for 8) (I want to note here that fake crab in california rolls contains wheat. So if you have wheat intolerance as well, I’d go full vegan) and one of the vegan rolls ($12 for 10) with tamago, tofu skin, asparagus, pickled daikon, and avocado. I asked if anything was breaded and they said yes the asparagus so I asked for it to be left out since I cannot have gluten. I also asked them to take out the tofu skin since it’s marinated in soy sauce. They did no problem. My dining partner got a chirashi bowl. He has spent several years splitting his time between Japan and the US, so he has a really good gauge on what a good chirashi bowl is. He said the fish pieces were sliced much thicker than usual; in Japan they are sliced daintily. With that being said he thought the majority of the bowl was great for the price ($25) and said only one of the fish was "fishy". They assured us the chirashi bowl was entirely gluten free. When we were sat we received a bowl of edamame on the house. When we ordered tea we also discovered that was on the house too. Finally, when we finished they offered us strawberry ice cream on the house.
