Koi Palace is a fantastic dim sum restaurant. They do not have a dedicated gluten free kitchen, however, many things are made with rice flour. The safest bets are the shrimp dumplings (hargow) which also come in “spinach and pea shoot” form and “chive” form in addition to plain. No gluten reaction when I eat these. The mango puddings also seem safe (no reaction). I also love the sticky rice in lotus leaf (no reaction). Most of all the silken tofu is great. To give an idea of my sensitivity level, I normally have at least a little pain from cross contamination, so from my lack of pain at koi palace, it seems like there is little to no cross contamination between dumplings that use rice paper (like hargow) and buns that are clearly flour based. There are many offerings that are safe if you eat meat— just avoid anything fried as they don’t use a dedicated gf frier. If you are worried, bring some Glutenease. However, as long as you pay attention to what you’re eating (clear dumpling wrappers are safe, opaque ones are not) you will be fine.
