Overall, the staff couldn’t be nicer and all menus do indicate what is GF, but be very careful at any of these restaurants.

The Loft (Breakfast) - when you are seated, they ask if anyone has any allergies, but they never do anything with that information. On my first morning, I ordered steak and eggs, figuring that would be a safe choice. I told the waiter that I have an allergy and couldn’t eat gluten. I asked if the steak was marinated in anything and was assured that it wasn’t. One bite confirmed that the steak was marinated. I mentioned to the waiter that the steak was marinated and he told me that it was just spices. Since I already had a bite, I told him that I was certain that wasn’t the case. I asked to talk to a manager and when I asked her about the steak, she radioed to the kitchen and then said she would check and come back. She never did. The waiter then brought me a new steak (different cut and definitely not marinated). The next morning when my wife saw the manager and asked her why she never came back, she didn’t have an answer other than to say that the steak was marinated in ABC sauce, which has wheat. I guess she was embarrassed to come back the previous day. Going forward I opted for the buffet, which didn’t have many GF options, but it had an omelette bar where I could watch my food being prepared.

Solera (Poolside) - I ordered the ceviche and was told it was GF. When I asked about the chips that came with it and if they were fried in the same oil as something with gluten, they needed to check and eventually said that they were. In the end they brought different chips, but I wasn’t comfortable, so I only ate the ceviche.

Lobby Bar (Dinner) - I ordered a dish that was marked GF and told the waiter that I couldn’t eat gluten. The dish came with the same chips from Solera that they told me that afternoon were fried in the same oil as items that contain gluten. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she said that she told the kitchen not to include them and apologized.

I just think there is some confusion here about GF and fried foods. A little training would go a long way here. My suggestion is to avoid anything fried and stick to sure things.

the sushi place didn't have GF soy sauce. the waitress told me there was gluten in the spicy mayo. when the chef was asked..he read the ingredients to us and said he thought mayo had gluten... for such a highly rated hotel...I expect more:( the service was very poor and the sushi was of poor quality.

First vacation since celiac dx. All hotel restaurants have GF options. Very knowledgeable staff who could but not be nicer. Delicious food! Even homemade GF pasta in Italian restaurant.
