This place is great! One of my favorite restaurants to eat at. They don’t have a gluten free menu, but most items are GF. Staff are knowledgeable about GF items and are very friendly. One of my favorite dishes is the Carne Asada plate with house made corn tortillas but you can’t go wrong with the other GF items as well.

Food is delicious, chips in separate fryer. She said about 90% of the menu is GF. Very knowledgeable, SUPER service and atmosphere. Ceviche was BOMB and the pork belly tacos will live long in my dreams! ๐๐ฏ

We ate here today, for a change from our usual Stockton place, the nearby Market Tavern (the two restaurants apparently share ownership). There are a lot GF choices at La Mesa, and I was pleased to see that the enchiladas are GF. They did not appear to have a separate GF menu, and there no GF markings on the menu. The serves were helpful though. Our server was not too well informed about the GF choices, but he was a bit over cautious, and that is better than being not cautious enough. He just had to confirm a few things with the kitchen, and then I had a good selection. The kitchen staff certainly understand what GF really means, and I had no issues. We both enjoyed our food, and yes, the enchiladas are gluten free! The price is right too - food and drinks were very reasonably priced, and the quality was high.

Staff was knowledgeable and helpful in ordering gluten free. Chips are made in a dedicated fryer. I was able to order enchiladas and have them be gluten and dairy free. The food was delicious but not super authentic tasting - a little on the Americanized side. Pricing was decent for amount of food received.

La Mesa is a sister business to Market Tavern and Prime Table. I called to see if the allergen procedures were the same at La Mesa. The manager and head chef went through the entire menu with me over the phone, without me even asking. Food is amazing and was blown away by the customer service.
And they have a dedicated fryer for chips and all non gluten foods!
