I asked the lady to change her gloves, which she did. She added that everything has CC. I think the comment was to cover herself. I did not get sick, and enjoyed the food. I followed the advice of others on FMGF and skipped the toppings at the end.

Despite this place selling a fair amount of bread, I’ve eaten here many times and never gotten sick. I’m celiac and quite sensitive. The staff are happy to change their gloves.
One important note: I always skip the seeds / nuts that come with many of the salad bowls because they’re located right next to the croutons. Some of the staff know to ask you if you do want any of that stuff because it is next to the croutons, others don’t, but some proactively ask, which is evidence to me that they are aware.

Ladle & Leaf has a very clearly marked menu with GF, DF, etc. I told the employee I had celiac disease and he immediately changed his gloves without me asking. I had a Thai peanut salad with chicken and it was great, really fresh and healthy. There are at least 10 GF options on the menu.

I fly through SFO Terminal 3 a lot. I always stop here for a bowl of the GF clam chowder. It’s amazing! I have never had any problems. They also have some awesome fresh squeezed orange juice.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and feel comfortable recommending it for people with celiac. My suggestion, order a bowl that’s marked gluten free and skip the last topping (seeds or tortilla strips) they are next to croutons. Foods is pretty good. Nothing to call home about. glad to have e the option!

Friendly staff, but better to go when they are not busy, to avoid cross contamination.
Yes
Only thing they could guarantee was gluten free was clam chowder soup. I had to ask for a glove change and then they tried to give me bread. Would not recommend.
No
I had a breakfast bowl/salad, very millennial breakfast lol... delicious and safe to eat!

This was the San Francisco Soup Company. They are still owned by them and still offer all of those wonderful soups which are labeled GF, DF, V, etc. delicious gluten-free clam chowder!New is that they also offer a grain and salad bowl bar where you can choose your own grains and veggies and build your own bowl. The sourdough bread that they have always had is still there, but not out on all the counters the way it used to be.
