Last time I ate here, the food was not as good as before. They also gave me fries when I had asked for baked potatoes. The food seemed really greasy and I was nauseous afterwards. I hate they’re not as good as they used to be.

Thank heavens for fmgf! This place was a total gem. The most delicious fried fish I have ever had. Large perch platter with fries and hushpuppies made in a dedicated fryer! The hushpuppies were dairy free and made with oat milk. They were like little fried corn pastries. Delicious! Some prices were crossed out and made LOWER than the menu! (Wish I had taken a picture). The owner's niece has Celiac and he has experimented to find things safe for her to eat. All staff was very knowledgeable and conscientious. They did close down the gf fryers first - around 8:15p. We arrived just in time on our drive from Ohio! I might start scheduling my drives down south to take my daughter to school in a way so that I can eat here in both directions.....

This place was amazing!!! All the good down home cooking I had missed so much and great prices, pretty much everything can be made gf and it’s made completely separately. I ordered the cat fish, hush puppies and fried pickles and everything was on point. Such a cute restaurant too, reminiscent of the past. My family all ordered gluten items and they loved their food too. Can’t wait to visit again during my next trip to visit family in Concord. Bring cash since it is cash only!

This place is fantastic! It was recommended to me on Facebook, and a relative of the owner has Celiac so they have a completely separate area for gluten free and are very careful! I was SOO happy to be able to have hush puppies for the first time in over a decade!!! Also, be sure to go before 8pm because that is when they usually shut the GF fryers off.

This little restaurant lived up to everything I hoped it would be. So hard to find GF fried seafood! It’s in the middle of nowhere but so worth the trip. I got the seafood platter with shrimp and flounder, fries and hush puppies. It was all very good! Especially the hush puppies! Dedicated fryer and good size portions. It is cash only but there is a gas station a couple miles away if you forget. They stop serving GF at 8:15 because of the extra time it takes so keep that in mind. We will be back for sure!

We went to eat here for the first time this weekend. Celiac friendly. Waitress says they have a family member with celiac and everything gluten free has its own dedicated space and the owner’s and staff are very aware of it. Everyone was so friendly and sweet. Top notch customer service for celiac knowledge, menu options, a cozy little restaurant that takes you back to a simpler time. Located at the end of a gravel road with beautiful scenery. It is a cash only place. Tea has unlimited refills and soda is in a can charge per can. I am celiac and didn’t get sick from my meal. I got gluten free popcorn shrimp, fries, hush puppies, white slaw, tarter sauce, shrimp sauce. And sweet tea. It was all delicious! We will definitely be back!

It was fantastic! I had flounder, hush puppies, and French fries. They are very knowledgeable and careful about the safety of gluten free food for people with Celiac! We have eaten there a few times and it has been great and no problems! I am very sensitive, so it is wonderful to find a place that I can trust for a gf meal!

Fantastic experience! Such a treat to get gluten free fish and fries! The only minor bummer was that they were out of GF hush puppies the day we went. We live out of state, but have family in the area, so hopefully it won't be too long until we're back. Highly recommended!

Finally ate here and while the people were super nice and knowledgeable about GF options, I thought my fried shrimp and flounder where just OK. The hush puppies on the other hand were amazing...I could have eaten an entire basket. I would give it 3.5 stars.

Rustic would describe it. Don't expect fine China and candle light. Food is served on paper plates and is cash only. What you do get are staff that know gluten and serve you a great seafood, fish, oysters, and chicken with all the fixens from hush puppies to slaw.

I've had celiac for 10 plus years and this was the best fried food I've had. Finally got to try fried pickles, and they were awesome. Oh and the hushpuppies omg so good. Not the healthiest place to eat but a once in a while treat it is second to none.

The restaurant was very good and very gluten free friendly. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Basically everything on the menu is fried (because everything was southern) but you can order broiled fish so if you are looking for healthy it may not be the best place. I would say 97% of their menu (including all the fried stuff) was gluten free including gluten free hush puppies (they were extremely DELICIOUS.) Just be warned, the restaurant is really off the beaten path and looks like an old house from the outside. It's really a "hole in the wall" or a "diamond in the rough" kind of place so don't be alarmed. Also keep in mind that you must pay in cash! Everything was delicious and it was a nice experience. I highly recommend it.

I thought I would never eat hush puppies again after being diagnosed with celiac disease. This place is in the middle of nowhere but is so worth the drive! It's an old, family style restaurant. I ate battered flounder, hush puppies (which were the best I have ever had!!) and French fries. They have a dedicate fryer and the batter is corn based. And the sweet tea was to die for. So glad I found this place! Go check it out!
