There is a language barrier here. At the counter I was told that the tortilla chips were not gluten free. When I got to the pickup window there were tortilla chips on my plate. I was told they were gluten free. I started questioning and the girl from the counter came over and said only the corn tortilla chips are fried in the fryer and no flour is ever fried in the fryer. So this would make them gluten free. I told her this and asked her why she said they were not gluten free earlier. Again, there is a language barrier here. She then said they are indeed gluten free.
I had the tacos and the chips and was not glutened.
Only reason for the 4 stars is the prices are very high for what you get and they don’t clearly communicate.

Chips are fried in shared fryer (making them not 100% gf) but tortillas are all corn. They put the chips that come with tacos on a separate plate for my non-celiac boyfriend to eat. All the work stations look super clean!

Las Tortugas os awesome! We make sure to stop and eat anytime we are traveling through Memphis! Most if not all of their menu is gluten free! Food is authentic and delicious! Be sure to get one of their fresh fruit drinks!
