The people who work there are very nice and answered my questions willingly. They offer gluten free cupcakes made with almond flour but they are NOT Celiac safe.

This was the best gluten free cupcake I’ve ever had! Their base is a flourless chocolate cake so it melts in your mouth, and their frosting is delicious. If you’re in the DMV area, you HAVE to try this place.

Symptomatic Celiac

Visited this bakery because of prior high reviews. This bakery has beautiful cupcakes, 99% of which are not gluten free. Asked for GF cupcakes , which we noticed were handled with the same tongs as regular cupcakes. The owner (I assume) offered fresh cupcakes with washed tongs when this was pointed out. These were sitting on a plate surrounded by pedestals of regular cupcakes. Celiac son ate first cupcake with no reaction. A few hours later, ate the second, and 45 minutes after that, had a stomachache and was nauseous. We suspect cross contamination and will not be giving him the other purchased cupcakes.

Yum! They have two gluten-free flavors, chocolate and caramel. Both have an almond-based cake part. They were very rich and delicious. I didn't really taste any caramel in the caramel cupcake but it was a cream cheese-type frosting.

The only hint I would give them is to have an ingredient list. The person at the counter had to call the owner to find out whether there were any buckwheat or corn ingredients (there weren't except possibly hidden in powdered sugar in the frosting, I didn't ask about that).
