Celiac

Am celiac. Had dinner there. Went during a non-busy hour. Ordered a delicious dish that was inherently gf if you omitted the breadcrumbs. (zucchini noodles w lobster, shrimp, mushrooms and tomatoes. Comes in a buttery sauce. Delicious!) My waiter, Dan, knew the celiac "no cross contamination" drill and volunteered to go ask the chef if he could keep it clean and safe for me. I didnt have to explain anything to Dan - he already knew it! Chef said yes bec they weren't too busy yet. Got new pan, new gloves, new utensils.....

They say they have gf pasta, but I dont know how they cook it or strain it. I didn't ask. Also have cauliflower crust pizza - but again - not sure about the prep. I didn't ask.

Had a very pleasant time, sitting outside on patio with shade umbrella, a nice glass of wine, an understanding waiter, and delicious food.

Dont know if it will always be this way, but Dan made it happen for me. Go when it is not too busy. Its a really nice place w outdoor bar, outdoor dining, can drop down plastic panels for bad weather, and of course also has inside dining. Fairly popular - good to make a reservation.

I will try it again, but still hesitant about the pasta.

I’ve never left a review before, but feel compelled to share our experience. Our 13 year old celiac ordered the gluten free pasta today for lunch. I specifically asked the waiter if they use clean water because she had Celiac and he said yes without hesitation. Halfway through her meal, my daughter found a regular noodle in her pasta. When we called the waiter over and again asked about the water he then said he wasn’t sure. The manager came over and was very kind but told us the water had been changed an hour ago so they thought it was good. Clearly they don’t understand protocol for Celiac disease. The food was delicious but it is definitely not Celiac safe.

Small GF menu. My son had the beef carpaccio and salmon for dinner. He did just fine there!
