I don't understand why everybody says they have a great gliten free menu. They give you a list of things that are easily made gluten free by leaving half the stuff off. That does not a good gluten free menu make.
They do not know what they are doing. I inquired about their gluten free menu, ordered off the gluten free menu, and made sure to explain I am Celiac. They brought my food out on a bun. Then when I told them I couldn't eat that the manager came out to ask what was wrong and why couldn't I take it off the bun. Mind you I heard the waitress tell him that I said I couldn't eat it because I had Celiac and she wasn't nice about it. They made me a whole new one and I got sick.
I will not return to Logan's. I had ordered a baked potato with pat butter ($4.48) and received one with melted whipped butter. When questioning our server, she said that it had melted under the heat lamp. I expressed my concern about it matching my daughter's potato. She assured me it was fine. I also ordered a cheeseburger (no bun) and was given a plate with a severely peppered piece of "meat" along with wilted lettuce and a ring of onion, no cheese ($8.49). Needless to say it tasted terrible. Within 1/2 hour I was sick from being glutened.
They did care and made things safe for me. The waitress learned a lot during my visit. The options were okay. They had a printed page of gluten free menu with specific instructions to the kitchen. All that is great... I was just still hungry $14 later (unusual for me).
I was so excited to eat here because their menu had more than just salads. The food was amazing and our waitress was really sweet and caring. I asked for more of the butter that was on my broccoli, a different girl brought it out to us. I noticed on the GF menu it said "serve with cubed (something) butter." What was given to me was no in cube form. I asked the waitress and her response was "oops." She then avoided us for the rest of the time we were there and said nothing when she dropped/picked up the check. I have been sick for going on 4 hours now..
Menu was very short, but had some options. The menu stated what not to send with the meal but apparently the waitress didn't understand that because I asked for the menu, you needed to read it and understand what not to put on items. I received the whipped butter instead of stick butter on my potato and the salmon still came out with the garlic dill sauce it said it was supposed to come without. Since I just have an intolerance I didn't bother sending the whole meal back over it but will definitely clarify next time. Be careful here!!
Am here for the first time. Had long discussion with my waitress regarding Celiac. Was promised she would watch my meal prep and ensure it was done correctly. Another server brought the meal out and it included the rice which the gf menu clearly stated was not to be served. Waited while they redid my entire entree. This is a common problem in all restaurants but still frustrating. When new meal did arrive it was extremely over salted and no adjustment to the bill was offered.
Ordered a cheeseburger with no bun & a sweet potato with no butter off of their gluten free menu (which I had to ask for at the hostess stand). It came on a bun & with butter from the kitchen. Had to send it back. Manager never apologized, but did take my meal off the bill. In the meantime, my husband was completely finished eating his meal by the time mine came back from the kitchen.
Not very helpful. Don't waste your time or money. It just leaves you frustrated and afraid to eat.
These guys know what gluten is and how to handle it! It's one of the few places on my regular rotation. They have a large gluten free menu that explains how the food should come ( I.e. No bun, real butter not the whipped stuff they usually serve etc)
The food was awful. There is a gluten free menu but the staff doesn't follow it. The cook did but the food was bland and very low-quality. For the others that were not celiac, they got dog food looking meat loaf, low quality boxed Mac and cheese, etc. Don't go here!
I got the bunless burger with a loaded baked potato. The hamburger steak (what it really is) came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion on the side. The very nice waiter brought me some ranch dressing and I made it into a little salad. I had been craving a hamburger, and this satisfied my craving.
It may have just been the waiter that I had but he was not familiar with GF at all and did not listen when I repeatedly told him that my food had to be GF. Food was brought out with gluten containing items on the plate! I had the ribs and they were okay. Service was also slow and I was not dining at a prime time hour. Overall I was very disappointed.
Not GF educated.
Terrible menu options for a restaurant with such a robust menu. Very disappointing. And they screwed up our order and brought regular food instead of the "sanitized" gluten free food; yet the waiter read off the gluten free menu with me and I stated gluten free several times.
This location is VERY unaware about gluten free offerings. The hostess had no idea what I was even saying when I asked for a Gluten Free menu, asked a server who was also unaware. The server told me that they didn't have block butter, as she had never heard of that at the restaurant. I explained that I eat at other Logan's locations and it was a normal item. My gut was telling me to skip dinner since there was so little knowledge of the menu. We will see if I end up with a reaction.
Ask for a gluten free menu when you arrive. It has a fair amount on options and outlines their gluten free policies as well. I've always enjoyed logans and make a point to eat here when I travel to Michigan. Warning: if you have a peanut allergy, no not go here. They have peanuts at every table and throw shells on the floor.
Photocopy GF MENU and several entrees. BBQ 1/2 rack baby back ribs, waitress checked if sauce is GF. large sweet potato with cinnamon sugar and slab butter. Skewer of grilled vegetables: onion. Tomato. Zucchini. Mushroom. No side effects noted within 1 hour. Price similar to other local chain restaurants. Grill has a separate section to cook allergen free foods. Peanuts and rolls on table.
Gluten free menu was readily available at the hostess desk and our server was great. She went to great pains to make sure that my husband's meal was as gluten free as possible. She even asked whether she should bring any bread out for me (I wasn't eating gluten free). Great restaurant, with a specific menu of gluten free items, with lots of choices. The food was excellent here, at a noon meal on a Sunday....pleasant and very helpful staff that were knowledgeable about gluten free eating. Very clean and cheerful restaurant. We would definitely go back if we are in this area again. $$
We stopped for lunch at this Logan's Roadhouse, as we were traveling through the area, on a Saturday. We asked for their gluten free menu as soon as the seating hostess greeted us and were promptly handed one, that was readily available at the hostess desk. The pleasant, young server said that she was not familiar with the gluten free menu but after we placed our order, she came back to tell us that the baked sweet potato that we had ordered, could not be served with butter, as they only had margarine....and that could not be included with their gluten free items. She let us decide if we wanted the margarine or not. Logan's did seem "aware" of gluten sensitivities and did try to provide us with accurate information regarding their menu. There was a nice selection on their menu and everyone was pleasant and helpful that we encountered. The food was very good and the only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars was due to the fact that I felt that the probability for cross contamination was quite high. Price $$
True gluten-free is without ALL grains including rice, corn etc. Logan's actually recognize that rice is part of gluten-free menu so I am amazed that there is 1 chain restaurant that is up to speed with gluten facts. Glutenology org has the latest research about gluten for anyone who has not already found this info.
Asked for gluten free menu and apparently was an inconvenience to waitress as she rolled her eyes. It was out of date by almost 2 years and I asked if they could check for an updated list. While waiting for any information, the waitress then tried to bring us rolls - which we sent back explaining the severity of the allergy. Manager came out almost 15 minutes later and slapped it down on the table and snapped, "Here, what do you want off this?" Needless to say, we didn't stay and can't tell you about the food at the location.
The managers will print out a list of items u can have or with modifications to items u already like. If u have more than just gluten allergies like me you might have more than one list. Most of their seasonings etc are all gluten free. Very nice to get a steak for a change out. No reactions.
I see a lot of mixed reviews...seems even though it is a chain they may not be all trained correctly or have managers /owners who haven chosen to serve gf. So any situation just ask questions and don't be afraid to walk out of a restaurant. I would rather walk out then risk my health.
Seemed knowledgable telling me my ribs would be prepared differently since they had to be GF. When my plate came out with mashed potatoes and (gluten) gravy (I didn't order that, I ordered mushrooms) he took the plate back and said they'd reheat the meat on the grill. I had to explain that the gravy touched the meat so I had to have everything cooked fresh. They were accommodating and polite, it's just frustrating to have people only half understand gluten & cross-contamination!
Ok variety. My waiter was fantastic. He was super cautious with my order. I left happy and well taken care of.
last time I was there, they did not have a dedicated gf menu. They are predominantly a steak house, so a paleo diet works well here. They serve peanuts at the table, so anyone sensitive to nuts should avoid the whole restaurant. I have not experienced any ill effects after eating here. Staff is very friendly and worked with me on my special dietary needs!
They do a good job most of the time. Only had one waitress that didn't know anything. My grandmother (in her 70s), my niece (4 yrs old),and I (20s) are all severe celiacs. They took care great care of each of us. No one got sick. :)
My husband and I took my parents to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. The hostess, waiter and manager all had no idea what gluten was or that they had a gluten free menu (at that point we should have left!). When my food finally came out (well after everyone elses) it was completely unseasoned, way overcooked and the biggest waste of $14 ever. We will not be going back.
Their ribs are gluten free and they are fall off the bone good. They were so nice to us and didn't get sick awesome!
Great meal staff went out of their way will go back again
Several choices on the menu. Food was excellent.
gluten free menu with quite a few choices and a helpful staff
Not celiac friendly. They don't even use real butter. It took two tries to get my steak right. Very disappointing for a "steak house"!
I had to tell the restaurant they had a gluten free menu, and even after explaining I wasn't sure they understood what gluten free meant. My food was over-cooked and dry.
The Greenville, SC doesn't have a GF menu so there is no point in going if you have an allergy. The wait staff had no idea what I was talking about when I asked if they had a gluten free menu. She went to the kitchen and asked them only to co
Very good gluten free menu
Does not deserve a star. Manager discouraged me from eating there. There is not a gluten free menu. Just a statement to consult with staff. I left because of manager attitude.
Food average choices minimal
Usually a great place, but the last two times I have gotten horribly sick afterwards.
Excellent service and gf meal. I'm allergic to dairy also so requested the grilled chicken with bbq sauce instead of the normal item. Yum! Beware! Second trip, different manager with a cavalier attitude. Assured it was prepared properly but it looked different and just woke up with stabbing pains!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, just ask for the kitchen manager when you get there and they'll follow your order through the entire kitchen. A dozen visits and never gotten sick yet. (Great steaks too).
ok but bread comes to tables
the salads pretty bland
I enjoyed every thing but the ice burg lettuce. The service was great, the brought two gluten free menus with no strange looks, music was nice in the back ground, just nice.
The selection is ok but had to send back the food. However it was the first week it was open here in Allen. Hopefully the staff is more prepared for gluten free diners now.
Service was awful, food was cold, table was dirty, gluten free menu was printed on a dirty re used sales report. Avoid if possible!
Dave was great helping us with the gluten free menu. The assistant manager was useless. He spent his time walking back and forth between the kitchen and hostesses. He couldn't answer a question about the menu. The floor was gross and slippery. The new 'big cheese' appetizer needed salt.
