Opted not to eat here after the waitress was pretty rude and also wouldn’t directly answer my questions. I asked if the GF waffles are made on their own separate waffle iron and she said all the waffles are gluten free. But then I realized the menu states under each waffle that it is an upcharge for the gluten free version (if all the waffles are gluten free why would it state that gluten free is an up charge?). When I asked her about it, she said she wont upcharge me. I explained I don’t mind the upcharge I just need clarification on how they are made to know if they’re safe for me to eat. She then says condescendingly “I don’t think you want the waffles, you have so many questions about them you don’t seem sure”. I explained no, I DO want the waffles, I just have to ask the right questions for my safety because if I don’t, I can get very sick. After my friend ordered, I was not feeling confident in her answers so I very nicely said I think I will just pass on the waffles and order something else. The waitress again condescendingly says to my friend “see, I knew she didn’t want the waffles”. At that point I said I don’t feel comfortable eating here because clearly the waitress was not taking it seriously, and wanted to make fun of me for daring to ask a question. So we left. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. If it had been a peanut allergy, I’m sure she would have taken it way more seriously! 🙄 For a place that advertises gluten free options, it was not inclusive at all and a terrible experience.
