Glutened and angry. I tried this restaurant based on previous reviews. I called ahead for reservations, and explained I had celiac disease and a severe gluten allergy over the phone. The person assured me they had gluten free pasta and bread available, and would prepare the food safely.
I ordered the gluten free calamari and shrimp appetizer which was grilled not fried, eggplant rollatini with side of GF pasta which is a GF penne, and creme brûlée for dessert. All should have been safe as none had any gluten ingredients and waitstaff assured me they communicated my allergy with the kitchen staff. No GF bread was ever brought to the table, although the waitress said she would be bringing it.
Two hours later and my bowels are dying and I’m rocking myself back and forth on the toilet. I don’t know what went wrong, but never ever again. Beware!
