Pleasantly surprised- no reaction and I am sensitive to cross contamination. We ordered 2 items that were not GF and they made sure I was aware if this. I didn’t ask about their food prep (I always ask - not sure why I didn’t here…). I do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to other Celiacs. So nice to finally be able to eat Chinese food!

I was so worried I would have a reaction. Chinese food is notoriously difficult to find gluten free and made in a safe way. The owners were super nice and answered all my questions. I don't know if they exactly have separate designated area for gluten free cooking because they use the same utensils but they will wash in-between and use fresh oil. I did not have a reaction and I am pretty sensitive.

We had take-out, and the staff were very knowledgeable about GF and celiac. They assured me that they used a dedicated fryer and that the breaded/battered dishes were made using potato starch. When I picked the food up, all the GF items were labeled and in the same bag, and a smaller bag with the non-GF items (just the spring roles and wonton soup) were all together. They were very patient and happy to answer all my questions.
This was my first Chinese food experience since diagnosis and I was not disappointed. We had the dinner for six, and the only non-GF items were the spring roles, wonton soup, and fortune cookies. All the other dishes were GF (ginger beef, sweet & sour chicken, black pepper pork, hot & sour soup, chicken fried rice, ginger tofu, salt & pepper squid, etc.), and they were very tasty. The ginger beef wasn’t as crunchy as I’ve had pre celiac, but the flavour was very good, and the hot & sour soup is some of the best I’ve had. They serve the sweet & sour sauce in the side so the breading on the chicken stays crisp. This is now our go-to restaurant for Chinese food.
Wonderful staff. Very helpful and friendly and eager to help.

I'm so excited to find GF sweet and sour chicken (it is even battered). We also had egg foo young and house special died rice. It was expensive but so worth the cost to finally have Chinese food again.
I read the reviews here and elsewhere and was a bit worried... but the food was amazing. I ate it last night and had no contamination symptoms. I ordered from doordash.

Good food but not celiac friendly. They use the same fryer for all food so tons of cross contamination.
No
They are not celiac friendly. How do people not understand this? The restaurant is full of contamination because they don’t clean the cooking dishes properly to make it gluten free!
No
Amazing food and helpful server!

Having recently been diagnosed with celiac, I was thrilled to see that Magic Bowl has a gluten free menu. We ordered several dishes for pickup and were pleasantly surprised how good the gluten free options were. Although it tasted delicious as it was, the gluten free Ginger Beef is nothing like the Ginger Beef we are accustomed to (pre diagnosis). Will definitely order from them again.
