Mandarin Lotus Fine Chinese Fusion Cuisine

No GF menu and it felt like they guided us toward the more expensive dishes on the menu being gluten free. The food looked great but is definitely fusion which was a little too unusual for my daughter. We had to order a second dish because the fried rice we ordered was curry based and had cabbage in it. Pretty pricey bill for 3 meals. Looked like others really enjoyed their food and there were multiple gf tables. Wasn’t our cup of tea but definitely is a safe place to try.

Amazing experience, they're very dedicated to serving gluten free and celiac people. Had the gluten free orange chicken, rice.noodles, VIP chicken, and lemongrass pork. So good!

This place was an interesting experience. A bit of a strange vibe, I appreciated the owners talking to us and being nice but it became almost too much. Like they were trying to make sure we left them good reviews and tried a little too hard. There are a lot of gluten free options, and they’re happy to advise and give substitutions which I so appreciate! They take every precaution. I wasn’t blown away by the food, I got the special orange chicken, but the chicken was paper thin, it turned so crispy you couldn’t even spear it with a fork. I had to scoop them up and crunch them like granola clusters. I think it was 75% breading and maybe 25% chicken. My partner got a beef dish (dont remember which one) but it was honestly like 75% onion 25% beef. Seems like cost cutting measures are in place to reduce meat on the plate. Which might be fine if that were advertised The fried tofu appetizer was good. Presentation is stellar. Lots of GF options but not 100% sure I’d return only because the meal wasn’t memorable and we both felt a little jipped on protein.

We ordered take out last week and loved the quality and taste of the food. This is excellent Chinese food. The owners have many celiac patrons and pride themselves on preparing the food safely. They make everything from scratch so you can just pick your proteins and sauces and they can make it gluten free for you. We ordered three gluten free dishes, took them home, Nima tested them, and they all passed. This is a great Chinese food option for people with Celiac. The gluten free food they prepare tastes great so there is no sacrifice on taste.

Wow! So glad to have found this place! We haven’t eaten Chinese since being diagnosed with Celiac and this was wonderful. The orange chicken, veggie fried rice and shrimp chow fun were excellent. Lots of fresh ingredients and vegetables. We also had the hot and sour soup which was amazing. The owners were super sweet and even brought out the ingredients they use to show us it was gluten free. We will definitely be coming back again and again!

I absolutely LOVED this place!! The food is delicious and beautifully presented. My family has celiac disease and Mandarin Lotus was so accommodating and was able to make all of our favorite dishes gluten free for us. Nearly anything on the menu can be made gluten free including a delicious and fudgy chocolate cake. Not only was the food amazing but the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately we do not live in the area, but I would go here all the time if I could!!

Wow, this is a must try! So many super yummy gluten free options plus vegan items too. No GF menu but it’s a husband and wife establishment so they know their menu inside and out. We highly recommend it. Everything is fresh and made to order! Had the Southwest Chicken Argentinian sauce and they modified it to make it also low FODMAP. This is our second time eating there and will be a regular stop on our drives to and from San Luis Obispo to San Diego.

I called and asked if they know what Celiac is. I was amazed at the response: Yes, we know what it is and we can make almost most of the dishes with gluten free sauces. We wash all the GF utensils and cook these dishes separately.

We ordered 1 GF items for my daughter with Celiac. The Mongolian chicken was perfect and very tender. They said they can offer about 92 GF options.

My daughter is super reactive to gluten and nothing happened. She used her last Nima tester and it confirmed no gluten in the sample. Lastly, due to COVID, they only do pick up. All precautions were taken AND, she marked the dish and said she has it on the top of all the other items to make sure there is no cross contamination. Im still amazed! What a relief. This is the first exceptional GF place we found since moving to California.

I love this place! The owners are extremely knowledgeable, and there is no cross contamination. We had a fantastic meal and were able to eat food I haven’t had in 10 years. The orange chicken is fantastic, as well as the salt and pepper crispy calamari! We went with the owners’ suggestions for a couple other dish, and we ate everything!

Everyone was so nice, they brought out the ingredients to show us that it was gluten free and told us that they’ve been making gluten free food for 10 years. It felt very authentic and the food was so good (especially the orange chicken)! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic service and the food was delicious. I hadn’t had good Chinese food in years since being celiac. This restaurant is 95% gluten and vegan free. I didn’t get sick, praise God I’m so happy. Another restaurant to add to my list. The server was so nice and knowledgeable as well. I’ll def be eating here again.

Wow! Best Chinese food I have ever had (even before going gluten free). I’ve tried four dishes there and they were all delicious. I always order vegan tofu dishes, but they have a selection of all kinds of meats. The hardest part is choosing what you will eat! The owners will help you choose though!

This is hands down my new fave place!! Finally a restaurant that offers delicious gluten free Chinese dishes is a blessing and they hit the nail on the head!!!! I will absolutely be back and I had zero reaction, no aches or pains! Absolute must try for celiacs and gluten free!!!

After seeing the near perfect reviews for this place, I was excited to give it a try. Since my celiac diagnosis, I would hardly classify myself as a picky eater. If you can serve me some food without getting me sick, I'm sold. With all that said, I have never tasted such inedible food. I went with a party of 4 and ordered 6 dishes. The white rice was phenomenal, but all (literally with no exceptions) 6 dishes were grotesque. While I was embarrassed to do so, I walked out with my group and left 6 nearly full plates of food on the table after paying the bill. Truly a disappointing and unfortunately memorable experience.

Incredible Chinese food and celiac friendly! Light and well-balanced flavors with extensive GF, dairy-free and veg options and no MSG. Wonderfully unique menu with eclectic culinary influences (Indian, Thai, French, etc) and sophisticated flavor combos. Family run and the owners are such kind, knowledgable people. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Check it out and try the Kelsey Grammar Orange Chicken, Szechuan pork, and horseradish maple crispy beef, plus mango citrus creme brûlée for dessert. Chef said he can make GF soufflé as well if you give him advance notice. I'll definitely be back to try that!

Awesome place! I have celiac disease and am lactose intolerant so it's hard to find options. Many gf choices that are also dairy free.

This is by far the best place to eat if you are gluten free. I have travelled from coast to coast and internationally and I can honestly day I have never seen a more comprehensive gf menu. The owners are warm and welcoming. I will be returning every chance I get. Go go now you will not regret it.
