Glutened, most likely because of a common cooking surface or utensil. Even though we were paranoid and made sure they understood celiac disease was more than just an upset tummy and that common utensils are enough to contaminate.

I totally understand that in any kitchen where there's gluten, cross contamination can happen – but as a business that labels itself as being totally understanding to people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance, this was a huge disappointment. The facts that their floors haven't been mopped in probably years, and that the menu was a confusing mess – should have been big red flags, but we wanted to give them a chance.
