Not celiac safe! I’ve had a good experience at other ice cream shops, getting a fresh bun of ice cream and using a clean scooper. Not here. I asked for gluten free/celiac safe precautions, specifically a new tub and clean scooper, and the worker ignored what I said and rinsed his used scooper in a sink for 2 seconds and dug right into a used ice cream bin. Not what I asked for and not safe at all.

I came in and asked about gluten free options and was told by all 3 of the employees that they have no gluten free ice cream. The place was also dingy and dirty. Most of the ice cream looked like it had freezer burn. They had a sign posted saying that night shift most cover the ice cream every night. Meaning that they have a problem with leaving ice cream out and exposed. Kind of gross.

This location is now a Maggie Moo’s and they have no idea what gluten is. We are pretty sure they believed lactose was the same as gluten, but they insisted that everything contained gluten. We ended up getting a plain milkshake with milk, ice cream, and chocolate syrup just to be safe. No reaction but also not our favorite way to order from restaurants either.

Great experience. They make their own ice cream and all allergens are clearly marked. The only ice cream flavor I couldn't have was birthday cake that has chunks of cake in it. Loved my trip
