I was nervous about going out to eat and called ahead to verify that they could accommodate gluten-free. They assured me they could. When we got to the restaurant, we again let them know my friend and I were gluten-free. We ordered a drink that was brought with graham cracker crumbs around the rim. My friend took a drink before realizing this; after having a reaction, the server took her drink back and remade it. I asked again for him to make sure the food was gluten-free, as I was nervous since our server simply looked at the menu and said, "Yep, you should be good with all of that." and had already brought us a drink with gluten. He brought our fish out, and it was crusted in bread crumbs (panko). I took a bite, thinking that he must have ensured that it was gluten free after the number of times we asked about it - it was not, and I started having a reaction right away. Sure enough, when he came back, I said, "that's panko". To which he responded, "It's not flour." And I had to explain to him that it contained gluten. They remade the dish fine - but ultimately had 2 major disasters and did not offer to comp anything. My allergy is not as severe as some people's Celiac. I would have been so sick if that were the case. They can do gluten free here, but I wouldn't feel confident that it's a guarantee. If you do go, I would be very insistent that you talk to the chef.
