The waiter informed the kitchen about my spouse's Celiacs. That was awesome. Cute place. Beautiful views! Unfortunately there were very few GF options. We had vegetarian sushi because it was the only item which she could assure us would be GF.

Update: new owners and new menu and no longer great for GF. OLD review follows… Amazing gluten-free menu! Best in the Keys that we have seen. You can check it out on their website. So many options! My daughter loved the food. The only negative was they did serve her salad with croutons, but apologized and had a new one out in 5 minutes. And they do have gluten-free rolls!
Marker 88 was my “go to” spot for great GF food and the atmosphere. Apparently the place changed hands since last year and they have very few GF options on the menu now. They did upgrades to the property that I believe took away from the laid back ambiance. Although I wish the new owners luck I am so disappointed that they made such drastic changes to the menu.

Literally the sickest I have ever been. Threw up amongst other things all the way to Key West. Stay away!
Very little. They said they had changed the menu. Told me something was GF and obviously wasn’t. I was sicker than I’ve ever been in my life. Almost went to the hospital.

Gluten Free menu. They have a dedicated fryer. I was also sure to tell the waitress about my celiac and questioned about the fryer. I had the blue crab dip w/chips and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. No reaction.
Yes
Dedicated gluten free fryer. Large gluten free menu which offers appetizers to dessert. Able to eat inside or outside right next to the ocean. Lots of parking and staff is very familiar with gluten allergies. We have already had lunch and are planning our dinner here for tomorrow.
Yes
Staff was very helpful. Had a gluten-free menu. I have Celiac and ordered the shrimp zoodles (Zucchini) and it was very good and didn’t get sick. My daughter (Non-GF) ordered the Key Lime Seafood and she said it was delicious. I would definitely return.
Yes
Beautiful location on the water, GF menu available. We enjoyed the lobster mango guacamole app, and I had the potato cake with fried avocado, which was delicious but would have been better with some protein, like crab or shrimp. Good meal, but 4 stars since we agreed was overpriced for what you get.
Separate gluten free menu with many options. Only disclaimer on the menu is that if ingredients from the manufacturer change they can’t be held responsible. They had separate gluten free bread which I thought was great. My pasta Florentine was a little thin as far as the sauce goes but otherwise quite good when I added chicken. Would definitely go back to try some other choices

They do not have a separate fryer. I called ahead to double check about the menu and the girl on the phone was clueless. She checked with the kitchen and came back saying there was a separate fryer. We decided to go anyway based on reviews and the fact that they did have a separate menu. I asked the waitress re the fryer and was told it was shared. Glad I asked again. The food that my husband ( seafood) and son (grilled chicken) got was good and safely prepared. Oh and the do have gf cheddar biscuits. We get to desert and everyone wants ice cream. Is it gluten free? Nope! Huge THANK YOU to waitress for checking. The 3 stars is for the clueless employee who answered the phone and for the gluten free menu that was slightly misleading.
Best gluten free menu I’ve seen on vacation. They had options other than burgers and seafood. I got the pasta Florentine, it was good but I would have preferred a thicker cream sauce.
The service was not that great and the server said that everything’s in the same oil. I told her that we had severe reactions to gluten and please make sure ours was Safe... not even 10 mins after we finished the symptoms are starting. I would not go again. Not worth the money for the experience.
No
Lots of gluten free options. separate fryer. The staff were very knowledgeable and i would definitely recommend the cracked conch.
Yes
Awesome food, lots of options. I only tried apps: Fried cracked conch was amazing, lobster guacamole was different and equally as good. Can't wait to go back to try entrees!
Lots of celiac friendly entrees!
Yes
They have a separate fryer and offer cracked conch, French fries, fried fish, etc. server wasn’t knowledgeable but we spoke with others who confirmed the separate fryer. Service wasn’t the best but the food was great! We had blackened yellow tail and fries and cracked conch. We didn’t have any reaction from the food. Highly recommend
The food was bad. My husband and I felt nausea for the entire afternoon and ruined our day. The setting is very nice. It s a shame they couldn t deliver proper food. Plus i did not feel very safe with the GF as they made a mistake with order and had to send it back...
Great food in a nice waterfront setting. Has a limited GF menu and some of the items listed in previous reviews are not available (bread). French fries are listed in their GF menu, but we were told that everything is fried in the same fryer. Menu is misleading!

Flavor of the food was very good. Service was attentive. Server was well versed about gluten free menu items. Had the hot crab dip, caesar salad, and grilled shrimp skewers. Portions weren't very big, but they were flavorful. I'd definitely eat here again. Be aware that outdoor patio tables allow cigarette smoking in case that would disturb your meal to have your neighboring table putting off second hand smoke.
They have a great selection on the GF menu. The food was delicious. They even have GF cheese bread 😃. It was delicious. Great service.

Best place we ate all week. Great ambiance seated us right away (had reservations and it was crowded). Waiter Nick was awesome and knew all about gluten and their menu. They have a gf menu but fries are on it but not safe as he pointed out that shared fryer. I will go back when in the keys again. Thank you M88.
Great place, nice waitstaff, but beware. They have a gluten free menu that lists fries, but they use the same fry oil for everything, so fried foods are not safe for celiacs.

dedicated gf menu, the black beans and rice tasted authentic and delicious! great Beach side restaurant.
Have to be cautious with this one, I was on vacation and went for dinner. They have a gf menu, I was specifically told I could have the fries. I even commented how rare it was that I could have them, so how could I not go for it? I felt a bit uncomfortable after the meal, but nothing outrageous. I did wind up with skin issues, but that's not super uncommon and didn't think too much of it. I then stopped for lunch on the way out of town, asked to see the menu again, and before I could say another word, was warned to stay away from the fries since they share a fryer. Not sure who was telling the truth, but the staff could use a bit more training.
Dinner was delicious and had a good gluten free menu. Our waiter seemed fairly new and struggled a bit- it took 25 minutes for us to get out check- but the other waitstaff seemed like they were amazing! Would have been a 5 star review if our waiter hadn't been new to the job.
Amazing food and atmosphere. However, I ordered the same meal as my husband but without the sandwich bread and they charged me $14 more for "entree" dish. It was the same thing! Delicious and not worth the worry- we went with it. However, just make sure you are clear that you don't want the entree. There is so much food as it is!
Wonder wonderful wonderful!!!!! It's a little pricey (meals are like $28-$60, apps range $10-$20, and drinks are like $8-$15) ( we spent like $100-$120 for a couple both nights) but VERY worth it! The staff and kitchen are very knowledgable! We went there twice this week when staying in the area! Everything was amazing! The fish was fresh and the sides were delish! I lived the sautéd mushrooms! Rangoon style fish was to die for! Our server even brought me out a basket of my own cheese rolls and dip sauce so that it would get cc with the other breads! The drinks are really good too!

Very fresh fish. Solid gluten-free option list. cheese biscuits are good. Service was excellent and the view is spectacular.

This place is fantastic!!! I have been here for 3 days and this is this first time I have been able to eat out. food is fantastic and server was super knowledgeable. They even had gluten free cheesy rolls. WOW!!

Separate gluten free menu available - Wow! Excellent food; I had hot crab dip and blackened mahi. Delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for our server Joe. Great food in beautiful surroundings.
Yes
Gluten-free menu! Knowledgeable server. GF Cheesy rolls were great! We loved the Blue Crab dip (mostly crab, not lots of filler) and lobster guacamole (though the actual lobster portion could have been more generous). Key Lime Baked Alaska was inedible. Luckily the server traded it for the luscious White Chocolate Brulee. Also great atmosphere on the beach!

I'm a "local" and eat here GF all the time, never been contaminated. As a matter of what I've been told they only hve rice flour in the kitchen so even "normal" people are eating gf and not knowing it. :) like that dedication. And the cheesy rolls are very yum!

We recently traveled to the Florida Keys and we enjoyed two very good meals at Marker 88.
The food is freshly prepared, so be patient waiting for it. Enjoy the sunset from one of the tables that have gilder chairs! Great fun!
I had fish with salsa both times, (so delicious!!) but the hubs went for the filet of beef and he said it was tender and juicy.
And as an added bonus, the Gluten Free cheesy rolls were moist and delicious! yaay!!
I was not thrilled by the key lime baked alaska to be honest, but the service was great (thanks, Joe!) and the drinks generous. Some of the menu items are a bit overpriced, but that's the Keys during season, so I was not surprised.
The sunsets--well, those are priceless--and spectacular.
***They really "get" what gluten free really means; I could tell by the statement posted on the menu. The waiter assured me that the chef takes every precaution in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. I did not get sick either time, and that's my barometer, so go, and enjoy!
