I dined at this restaurant yesterday, 6-13-2021.at the 2948 Crockett St. FT. Worth Location. First and foremost, I chose this restaurant because I found your facility on the Gluten Free restaurant app. as having a gluten free menu. Therefore I felt safe eating there. Come to find out, it was the biggest mistakes I ever made and I paid dearly for it that day. I ordered a cheese burger and fries off the Gluten Free menu,(my hostess seemed to be a little bothered that she had to go get me a gluten free menu) which there was a rather large menu of Gluten Free items on it, which you do not see a lot of when dining out. What I was served was NOT GLUTEN FREE! I was in severe PAIN all night long. I am not at work this Monday morning, still trying to get over the effects of having Gluten still in my body. People with sensitivity to gluten and Celiac disease become very ill with excruciating pain. Gluten in one’s body leads to damage of the small intestine. Man…it’s like having a food allergy that can kill you. When a consumer eats at Smash’d and we tell the hostess we can only eat from your Gluten free menu, one would hope and pray the staff and the cook understand what is at stake here. Please educate your staff and your cook when serving and cooking for a Gluten free guest. Side note: I will never eat at your facility again and I have friends that are also on a GF diet, to never eat at your facility because it is not safe to eat there. And if my pain had gotten to the point that I had to go to the hospital, your facility would be looking at a lawsuit. Also, it took about 5 min. for someone to even approach my table to get me water to drink, my hostess was horrible, she was not friendly, the food was not good at all, and my burger was a wet soggy mess. I was so disappointed. I thank you for your time in the matter your truly, a very dissatisfied customer. The restaurant replied to my complaint asking me to come back in for a lunch on them. I replied with : Hello Carson, I thank you for responding to my complaint/ concerns. I just wanted you to be aware, that when you put a plate of gluten-free food in front of somebody. You are responsible in making sure that everything on that plate is gluten-free as you advertised. And you must also be aware of cross-contamination that goes on in the kitchen when cooking gluten free food. All of the restaurants I’ve gone to, I tell them I cannot have gluten. They always address my issues. And the cook even comes out and speaks to me and make sure that I will receive gluten free food and they make sure there will be no cross-contamination as well. And so far these restaurants have lived up to their gluten free advertisement. As of now I will have to decline your request to come back in and dine at your restaurant. I just don’t feel safe eating at your restaurant. I hope that you will do better next time when the next consumer comes in and request gluten free food. Yours truly, Dissatisfied customer

Lisa, I first want to personally apologize for you not feeling well. Us here at Mash’d want to serve and take care of each and every guest and there requests. We never want someone with an allergy or sensitivity to every get served something that they have requested that they can not eat. I would like to make this right anyway possible. Can I personally invite you back sometime for a meal on us so you can truly experience what we are all about here at Mash’d?

Thank you
