Always delicious and a safe option. I have never had cross contamination issues or a bad meal. Love this spot!

I feel confident eating here, there is a separate GF menu and the food comes out with an allergy marker! Do not eat at Zooma/Trattoria Appia come here or Pane e Vino instead.

The best GF rolls ever!! We had the carbonara which was alright and the short rib gnocchi which was soooo good. Also really good espresso martini and a big dessert selection even though I didn’t get any

They were very attentive, answered all questions and the food was amazing. The gluten free menu was huge and had dessert as well. I will definitely be back.
They have a separate GF menu and mark plates with a pick that says "allergy" on it.

10/10! We had a fantastic meal (it was an occasion) and still relatively new to figuring out GF. Our waiter was so accommodating and knowledgeable. They have a separate gluten free menu, which was just as long as the regular menu, and the GF rolls were great. We also ordered GF calamari and gnocchi Al forno. Both delicious. Extensive dessert menu with GF options as well. They have a disclaimer that they can’t 100% guarantee no cross contamination, but we had no issues and will absolutely be going back.

Amazing restaurant! Upon being seated, I mentioned I was GF. The server brought me a whole new menu & offered GF bread. It was fabulous! Even my non GF husband liked them. The baby artichokes were to die for & the short rib gnocchi was next level. I took a GF cannoli to go, so I can’t comment on that yet. I have such a happy GF belly!!

This restaurant was wonderful. They had a separate gf menu with amazing selections of appetizers, main courses and desserts! Everything came out marked with an allergy alert and the chicken parm was awesome. The best was the molten lava cake with Gelato.
Highly recommend and will be our new Italian "spot".

A separate gluten free menu, the best gf bread & butter, and everything was DELICIOUS. Plenty of options for gf apps, pasta, entree, and dessert. Food came out clearly marked with allergy, and everything was so great. will definitely be back.

We had lunch today and I got the 3 course lunch special for $24! I had the Tuscan bean soup with gluten free croutons, chicken piccata with roasted fingerling potatoes & green beans and cannoli for dessert which was in a gluten free waffle cone… all delicious and quality ingredients and gluten free. The waitress also gave me gluten free warm rolls. The waitress said the owner is gluten free so they are very careful. I will be going back!

I saw a lot of great reviews here for gluten free safety, so maybe they just had an off day, but out of an abundance of caution i asked if they use the same water for gluten free pasta as regular pasta. They shared that they do. For that reason i only ate grilled items. It's worth checking if you go.

Fantastic! They brought out my own gf bread, have lots of great options, and had no issue with my other dietary requirements. They have multiple fantastic deserts to choose from as well. Cocktails were a bit rough but overall a fantastic gf Italian place.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this was the best gluten free Italian I have had since going gluten free 6 years ago. The service was amazing; very knowledgeable wait staff who assured me that they take cross contamination seriously. Each gluten free dish came out with an allergy stick and the food runners stated it was gluten free when they brought it to the table. They even brought me complimentary gluten free rolls to start! I am very sensitive to cross contact and had no reaction. 10/10, could not recommend this place enough!!

Fabulous experience. We were a large party with lots of celiacs and muggles mixed together and they kept it all straight. What was gf who was sharing with who, which specials could and could not be gf. Everything that was supposed to be gf was and was flagged. Gorgeous presentation, incredible flavor. Such a gorgeous night. Highly recommend!!! Sorry I forgot to take pictures.

Amazing food with FULL GF menu! From apps to dessert, so many choices! I had fried calmari for an appetizer, chicken parm for my meal and cheesecake for dessert. They even served me fresh baked GF rolls. Everything tasted wonderful. My waiter, Nate, was so friendly and knowledgeable of my dietary needs related to Celiac. I will definitely be back!! It was truly one of the best restaurant experiences I have had since I was diagnosed with Celiac. I highly recommend!

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Rhode Island for good reason. The gluten free menu is massive and you can't go wrong regardless of what you order. GF dishes come out flagged "allergy." They have a GF cannoli that is simply incomparable. Service is impressive. During warm weather they have tables on the sidewalk and the plate glass walls slide away.

Absolutely terrible experience. I’ve dined here before and never had a problem until today. Came to celebrate my anniversary and had the worst experience. Ordered the gluten free calamari came out with a gluten free allergy pick on it. In the middle of eating it a girl came out to take it away. She dropped off a different plate of calamari and took the one we were eating. She spoke little English so couldn’t explain why she was taking our plate. When she dropped off the plate it was clear that she had given us a regular gluten calamari. We ended up leaving since it is clear it is not safe to eat here.

Impressive and caring service, they were extremely accommodating with our gluten allergy. They have an entire dedicated gluten free menu (that's actually cheaper than the regular menu!). Just make sure the wait staff knows about your allergy.

Full GF menu and they make the GF bread fresh. This includes gnocchi and melting chocolate lava cake!
The GF menu also includes a list of mixed drinks so there is no guessing.

I was excited to eat at this restaurant due to the positive reviews and “best restaurant” award, but we had a terrible experience. Waited an hour and a half for food, so many fruit flies in the bar area that kept landing in our drinks, and AC dripping down onto us. The food didn’t redeem the place. I had dry and burnt chicken parm and I became sick shortly after eating just less than half the meal because they served me straight gluten This experience was from summer 2021

I'm so happy I found this place! As soon as I walked in, they asked if I had an allergy, which made me feel very at ease. I was thrilled to be offered gluten free rolls (free of charge!!!) and had the carbanara (which had no upcharge!) for my meal which was absolutely delicious. Everything about my experience was incredible, I would absolutely recommend dining here!

Massimo is now one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Their gluten free dinner rolls (from AJ’s Bakery) were baked fresh, delivered warm, and were simply divine. I am not usually a fan of GF bread, but I even requested a refill basket (free of charge) and others in my group without a gluten allergy enjoyed my rolls just as much as the gluten containing rolls. I had the Cozze all’ Arrabbiata as an appetizer and the Capesante as my entree. Truly both dishes were amazing, but I have not stopped thinking about the Capesante. The menu has MANY fabulous choices. The servers were extremely well trained on GF, as well as the kitchen staff. This restaurant is about 1 hr away from home I wouldn’t hesitate making the drive for a special date night. I found the seating in the upstairs to be quite romantic. We had a lovely evening.

Excellent! Separate GF menu. Lots of options. All cross contact is handled properly. I’m highly sensitive, celiac, no problems at all. I was with my non-GF boyfriend, and he enjoyed it thoroughly as well. Posted pics of my meal. They started me off with GF rolls, then we split the calamari, and for my meal, I got the fruitti di mare. So good! I got an order of chicken parm and cannoli to go (bc we all know it’s hard to come across those!). Highly recommend. Our server, Kyre, was excellent too! Super accommodating, very friendly, all of it. Great experience, great food!

NOTE: The restaurant is now called Il Massimo
There's a reason why they've been voted the #1 restaurant in Providence! Really, really good food. They have a large GF menu, including desserts. I didn't have any issues with cross contamination. My only complaint is that our lava cake was burnt to a crisp and entirely inedible (got takeout didn't realize until we were on the road), but the carbonara and cheesecake were delicious.

Pricey but I went out to eat on NYE here & they had an AMAZING selection and separate menu. They did bring out bread in the beginning but they had a dedicated fryer and most items could be made gf. I had a seafood pasta and fried calamari!

Weird place. Appears to be fine dining but didn't meet the standard. Cocktails poorly made, had to be sent back. My GF carbonara was raw egg on cold penne, which made me feel sick and tasted about like you'd expect. It was nice to have a large GF menu, but the execution was lackluster. The GF rolls were good at least.
Huge GF menu. Very conscious of cross contamination. They get all their buns, crostini’s, and croutons from A and J. Had calamari, charcuterie, and crostini’s to start. Veal for main course. Ate a ton of GF rolls. No room for dessert. 10/10 will be back.

Huge gluten free menu, almost as big as the normal menu. I had the gluten free gnocchi and it was incredible. They also make their own gluten free rolls which were amazing.

I selfishly reserved a table here for my boyfriends birthday because the reviews for their gluten free menu were all glowing. I was not let down, not only were their gluten free options amazing but my bf also complimented the food and even said he preferred my gluten free bread rolls to his normal ones. This restaurant nailed the whole gf thing - I highly, highly recommend.
GF menu extensive, not just a couple options. GF penne carbonara, was delicious! Had side of broccoli rabe. Will definitely go back.

We went for lunch during Providence Restaurant Week and were assured that the gluten free specials were prepared just as carefully as the same dishes on the full price gluten free menu. Warm gluten free rolls were the best I’ve had, and every dish was superb. Appetizer, entree and dessert was too much food for us, so we took home enough food for a light supper and it was even delicious warmed over!
