EDIT: I’ve heard (online) that they don’t separate GF anymore, so there’s a big risk of CC. I haven’t been since, but if you’re a sensitive celiac I’d double check their current procedures before you go.

I am a sensitive celiac and I LOVED this place! Donuts were delish, soft, fluffy, and chewy! They even stayed good for 2 days! They make everything separate first thing in the morning so no cross contamination/contact. You do have to order 8hrs ahead of time, but all the info and availability is on their website. I will absolutely be back next time I’m on Maui!

Based on a below review with concerns about shared fryer (oil reuse), I contacted owner via website in advance who confirmed these are made in separate oil and fryers. When I picked up a GF order I asked again, “these are made in completely separate oil, correct?” and the two employees said “yes, completely separate”.

I ate the donuts and they were excellent. (Best gf cake donuts I’ve probably ever had?) I am very sensitive to cross contamination within minutes of ingesting even the tiniest bit of gluten, and I had no symptoms from eating these donuts.

Would give 0 stars if I could. $5 each for donut bites about 2 inches around, that you have to order 8 hours in advance, that are fried in shared, reused oil. The owner explained they believe the oil "burns off" the gluten so they advertise them as safe.

The gluten free donuts were delicious. You have to order them in advance so plan ahead. It is really easy to order these online. There were quite a few choices of donuts. Our gluten free items were totally separate from the rest of our party’s regular donuts.

I have been on the search for a good gluten free donut since I developed my intolerance and these are BY FAR the best I have had. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go get them!! FYI you have to order 8 hours in advance because they do the gf orders before making the regular ones in the fryer.

Best gluten free donut I’ve ever had! I tried the chocolate mac nut and maple cream Mac nut. Definitely get a chocolate mac nut. Generally I prefer fruit dessert but the chocolate mac nut combo is perfection!

I went on a Tuesday before 8:00 am and they had a few gluten free options remaining. They make the gluten free options first thing in the morning to avoid contamination with gluten. You can order ahead to pick the flavors you want and ensure they have a GF options when you arrive.

By far the best gluten free doughnuts you'll find anywhere. We ordered the five doughnut combo the night before and picked it up this morning. All of the doughnuts were super yummy. I have been craving a maple bar for six years (basically as soon as I got my diagnosis I got this craving). Every time I see a GF donut I've tried it and they've all been greasy, cakey, gooey... Sometimes quite tasty but never anything resembling an actual donut.

Enter Maui Ono Donuts: not only are they so definitely donuts, but the maple flavored one finally quenched the craving I've had for so long! I'd almost come back to Maui just to track these down again.

10000% you won't regret it. He comes extra early to make these and stops making them once the gluten comes out. I had zero reaction (other than a sugar crash) so I feel very confident in his safety precautions. Cannot recommend these enough!!!

Very good cake style donuts that did not seem like an overly sweet donut shaped cake which is what many GF donuts end up tasting like. It seems like ordering the day ahead works best for their gluten free donuts. No reaction issues for me or my celiac husband.

I loved them! We had to get to our $20 order minimum. I got a strawberry with rainbow sprinkles, a maple, and a chocolate with macnut. The maple was my favorite. My husband got a couple with gluten and said they were a little gummy.

I loved the crunchy bits on the outside from the fryer. I thought they were the best GF donuts I’ve had! I wanted desperately to go again, but, I didn’t want $20 worth. I should have spoken up.
