Very clueless about GF. When I was a student at WCU in 2014, they said they had no idea what gluten was. -However, after months of navigating the menu, the spuds and vegan chili are GF. Teas are also fine. I advise staying away from sandwiches even without bread due to cross contamination.
Do NOT get the sandwich!! Got horribly sick here!!! ER sick!
Not celiac friendly, but they do have gluten free bread and spuds. Hard to tell what is and is not gluten free in other items and ingredients since it's not specified on any posting or menus. Still a good choice for those that aren't as gluten sensitive!
I eat here a lot for lunch! there are lots of gluten-free choices. they use the Udi's gf bread with is my favorite. I have never had a reaction after eating here.
I eat here on a regular basis and they are always so careful when they prepare my food and do so willingly and with a positive attitude.
Large selection of gluten free options and bread was great. Healthy alternative to fast food and good service.
Gluten free bread and plenty of salads to choose from. Not perfect but better than no gf options at all.
The sandwiches here are quite pricey for what you get. For example, the 4 cheese sandwich has exactly that - 4 small slices of cheese. Paltry for the price. More importantly, this McAlister's does NOT offer gluten free bread, and the employees are completely uninformed about gluten. I placed 3 orders before they finally conceded that they did not offer gluten free - which had been my first question. Disappointing!
Great! Love having so many options to get a GF sandwich fix!
Don't go to this location...go to Middletown or Lime Kiln Ln. and you'll have better luck. McAlisters has GF items but it's always seemed risky. I've done pretty well though with baked potato, nacho dip and salad. This is the only Location that got me sick.
In general, we enjoy McAlister's Deli. Their Nutritionix menu is super helpful for filtering options by allergen. The staff on this shift didn't seem very knowledgeable on soup ingredients (i.e., fire roasted veggie soup contains pasta -- they didn't know that!) hence the 3 rating. If you don't know something with regards to food ingredients, just say "I'm not sure" and carefully look. Don't just make up an answer!
Excellent service and delicious! Our toddler daughter is gluten and dairy sensitive. They had a "sporadical" item on their menu, the Autumn Squash, which didn't show up in their in-house allergen list. They admitted that they did not know and directed us to the online list. We appreciate that they were willing to be honest and make something up. In the end, we ordered veggie chili and they gave us some GF bread for free. We considered toasting it but the manager commented that they don't have a dedicated GF toaster. So nice!
Lots of options, and good food.
No GF sight on the menu but they have GF bread (UDI's) for Gf sandwich option if you ask. I take the pecan-cranberry salad with chicken. It was excellent! Big portion and much chicken. I don't feel sick after, but not sure about cross contamination in the kitchen. It's a chain restaurant and they need to go fast..
This location does not have GF bread. They only thing on their GF menu was a sandwich without bread or a plain spud.....no thanks.
I needed help because I wasn't able to download the gluten free menu and the staff really didn't know what I could order and didn't have a physical menu I could look at. I decided a plain baked potato was probably safe but when my order came out the potato had cheese and bacon on it. I would have gladly eaten it if they could tell me if it was gluten free because I was starving but they returned it for a plain potato with butter and sour cream on the side. They proceeded to tell me the next time I came to order a justaspud. I feel if a business has a gluten free menu the staff should be able to tell you what what is on it or be minimally be polite and not treat customers rudely when they get an order wrong. Make sure you know before you go what's gluten free because the staff isn't helpful.
Ordered sandwhich on gluten free bread, they said they didn't have it. I told them they did. The order taker then found out they do have gf bread. Server Brought regular bread, told them I ordered gf, again told me they didn't have gf bread (they do). Server took my sandwich and never brought it back. Had to ask manager about my food and he brought my sandwich on gf bread finally. Never apologized.
I know they don't have GF breads (yet, I've been told they are working on it), but their "spuds" are amazing and very filling! Several different options like grilled chicken and steak spuds.
we ate here 3 times while in the area. they were very good about gf - they yelled back to cooks to change gloves and paper in grill. very sensitive celiac and never got sick. great place for gf sandwiches.
The staff was wonderful. They gave me a gluten free menu and told me they did have gluten free bread. Then when I asked how they ensured no cross contamination they told me they would change gloves and clean their area. The meal was wonderful and I did not get sick! (I have celiac and am very susceptible to cross contamination).
I get the pecan berry salad and spud max. I never have trouble with the spuds and they have the best baked potatoes
Always get the spud max. Never had an issue. This is the only thing I order. It's delish.
I had a salad with no issues. However the sever seemed clueless about gluten free options.
Went in to grab a drink and possibly a mid afternoon snack. The cashier was pretty rude when I asked if they had any GF items. She was clueless and asked the manager who was nearby. I basically got a paper menu tossed at me before she walked off. We went to the car and reviewed it. Pretty standard attempt at GF: salads, potatoes and bread less sandwiches. With that attitude, I can't imagine that she cared enough to teach her staff about cross contamination etc. I won't be back.
Good selection of gluten free options with bread but I got sick eating there three times in a row from cross contamination. Avoid if you have celiacs.
The staff was very helpful. The manager was familiar with celiac disease and went through the menu with us to ensure we found safe things to eat. They do keep a gluten free menu behind the counter. The gluten free bread on their sandwiches is the best we've had!
Gluten free bread offered and it's good!! Didn't get sick at all!!!
Staff were uninformed but directed me to the restaurant website which allowed me to easily pull up a gluten-free menu.
Have eaten at this place before in Wyoming. So when I saw they had one in Idaho as I was traveling through...knew I was in good hands...the staff is knowledgable and the manager is always on hand to make sure there is no cross contamination. Great Prices!!
