Fabulous meal at McKay's. Dedicated GF fryer and menu identifies all GF menu items (there are many). Celiac diners has filet mignon and a burger with GF bun. There were also plenty of non meat GF options. Dessert included a chocolate mousse with Irish Coffee cream. The food is delicious, the restaurant is quaint and the staff were great.

I ordered the salmon ( poached) with wild rice and haricot verts and the dill cream sauce on the side. The dish was good and not very hot and overall a bit plain. My husband ordered the seafood risotto and it was super rich and creamy with truffle oil. Service was just ok. I don’t think we would return as the menu offering were limited and it was also pretty loud in the room we were in. The house is pretty as well as the outdoor seating which was booked so we eat inside on the first floor.

The best dinner we had in Bar Harbor. The seafood risotto was outstanding and loved the Brussel sprouts as well!

Stopped in for an appetizer and drinks at the bar. Drinks were ok, but we ordered the Brie appetizer. The menu said it can be modified to be gluten free. They substituted tasteless, stale rice crackers. The Brie also didn’t have much taste to it because it was so mild. The staff were nice but we won’t be ordering that again.

Clear GF choices on the menu. Great food, no issues. Sporadic service, but it WAS a busy night. Has earned a return visit.

Had dinner there a few days ago. Lots of GF options. Had jerk chicken, which came with rice and beans, green beans, pineapple and plantains. It was very delicious and GF. Service was outstanding. Didn’t get sick. Highly recommended.

In Bar Harbor recently and was glad we went to McKay’s. I have Celiac and needed GF, of course, and my husband doesn’t. We both ordered the seafood risotto and LOVED it. DELICIOUS. Very knowledgeable re: need for GF and menu is clearly marked.

Had dinner here and it was the best meal I’ve had so far in bar harbor. Ordered the beef short rib and because I can’t have dairy they substituted the mashed potato for fingerling potatoes. Veggies were great too. Delicious meal felt great after eating.

In restaurant menu shows marked GF items that the online menu doesn't. Decent amount of choices. Atmosphere was nice, inside and out.

The oysters were good. My seafood risotto was okay. The scallops were almost raw they were so undercooked (one was even still cold). Our waiter was very grouchy but the employees who brought out the food were very kind. Sitting outside was very pretty and nice.

We ate here for our anniversary dinner, and everything was amazing! The mussels appetizer was great, the signature house salad was delicious, and the seafood risotto was superb. Ordering for celiac/flag for gluten allergy was no big deal, and I didn’t get sick. The restaurant’s garden where we ate was very charming!

We ate here two days ago. It’s a beautiful old house with a really interesting, relaxing atmosphere. I had BBQ wings, which were excellent. The only strange thing was that they didn’t have ranch dressing that I could use as a dip, which astonishes me. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals a great deal, and I had no reaction at all. Would return another time.

Fantastic experience! So many gluten free options and a dedicated fryer. I was overwhelmed with what to choose because there were so many delicious options. I had the smashburger with fries and my husband had the short rib. Both were fantastic.

Menu was very clear about what was gluten free, staff was knowledgable and even offered many gluten free dessert options (wonderful creme brulee!) Ordered a chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun— bun was good but not a fan of bread anyways 😂. Overall vibes of the restaurant were cozy, bustling, and organized. Fantastic!

We ate here on our last day in Bar Harbor, and it was the best meal of the trip! They have a heated outdoor patio which is lovely for cool Maine nights. There are plenty of gluten-free options on the menu, and the wait staff make a note for the chef to make sure everything is made safely. I had the Seafood Cioppino & it was amazing. They even included a gluten-free roll for dipping, because they didn’t want me to miss out on any of the deliciousness.

We had heard good things about McKay’s. I called ahead to ask about the menu items that would be available GF and they had accommodations for most items. My daughter had two appetizers for dinner (b/c those are the things on the menu she wanted - wings and bacon wrapped scallops), I had a salad with scallops. It was all delicious! I was also offered a fully GF beer that was always GF (not G removed) and it was delicious. I hadn’t had a beer in years! We sat outside and it was a lovely ensign all around.
