Has gluten free buns. Food is tasty. Fries are definitely not a separate fryer. Burger comes with fried onions on it. Wasn’t informed they weren’t gluten free even though i asked for a gluten free bun.

Have been coming to McSeagull’s for years. The menu is more limited than pre-Covid but you can get a GF burger with bun (fries contaminated), fish tacos (request Gf ones), steak, salads with fish/chicken, fish, seafood and more. The staff is friendly, atmosphere relaxed.

Precovid there were more GF options. I was disappointed with the number of options available. A few things were marked GF and they had GF rolls for the few sandwiches.

i didn’t have a good experience but keep in mind that it’s august 2020 so the pandemic is still in full swing, which has probably taken a toll on the restaurant. overall i wouldn’t recommend eating here until this thing blows over. i waited almost an hour for cold and mediocre food, but they did have a lot of gluten free options on the menu and are very careful, so i guess it depends on where your priorities are. all in all, it was pretty much what you would expect from a place called mcseagulls.

My son was able to order a chicken parm which they made fresh for him. It took a while to cook but he was delighted. We recommend this place.

Great experience. My 11 year old is a highly sensitive Celiac. Do not eat fried! There are not separate fryers, but there are other options. My daughter had a pizza and was fine.

They told me that they could fry the fish gf in with the French fry oil but failed to mention that the fries are not gf!!! No gf salad dressing. I guess you could get a burger or chicken sandwich only here.

In previous years I had been told that the kitchen had a separate fryer, at the beginning of the season I asked again to make sure nothing had changed and I was informed that they had never had a dedicated fryer... In the past I thought I had been feeling ill since I wasn't used to eating fried food anymore, turns out I was actually sick from the gluten.

They try to give great GF options-like saying their fried food is GF. But if you're celiac, you should know that it may have GF breading, but it's a shared fryer. They told us the gluten would "burn off" because it was fried at a high temp! Love that they make an effort to have GF options, but they aren't really educated about cross contamination.

The gluten free lobster roll came on a hamburger bun. Very disappointing. Then they didn't get my order right and served me a regular lobster roll. I almost ate it before I realized it wasn't right. They then just dumped it onto a gf hamburger roll. $25! Go to Portland and get a gf lobster roll at either sea dogs or even tide for half the price and twice the quality

We found a couple of pieces of fettuccine (which was not a pasta offered gf) among our penne which means our gf pasta was cooked in the same water as gluten pasta. It was also not cooked all the way it was still a little hard. Very disappointed.

Can make pretty much every dish gluten free, even fried food! Went there with my family on vacation and another gf individual was sitting at the table next to us and we both enjoyed our entrees! Nice outdoor deck to dine on as well!

The menu was filled with gluten-free items, they were able to make me deep fried scallops! They recently changed french fry vendors so the fries currently were not available gluten-free, so I had a side salad with it.

Delicious food here. My only concern is some options are misprinted as gluten-free so definitely check with the waiter.

That said, the nachos with lobster, avocado, and black beans are phenomenal.

10 days in Boothbay and the 2 best things I ate were here. Double bacon wrapped scallops with the honey mustard were delicious. The Lobster Reuben with the GF roll was a great combo. Could eat here everyday

Visited when on vacation from the UK in September 2013. We ordered a gluten free pizza to take out (which was very tasty), and sat at the bar chatting to a couple of locals while we waited. The barmaid was very friendly and I was delighted to find they had gluten free bottled beer available too!

All in all I'd recommend.

Excellent GF menu. Main menu is marked with GF indicator and huge selection. They have UdI's rolls for all their burgers, hot dogs, and seafood sandwiches. We were delighted with their selection and the food was fabulous. They even pan fried fish with GF flour and crusted it with coconut which was my wife's favorite. Highly recommend.
