Pizza only. Skimpy on the toppings. Came out burnt. Slow service. Pre-made crust shipped from a factory. If a manufactured crust and a $19.99 price for a 12 inch pizza doesn't bother you, go for it.
Gluten free pizza crust as well as VEGAN Daiya cheese! Winning!!!!
One word= yum
Best pizza I've had yet!!! So glad we found this place! Ty Ty!
Like other people have said, its very expensive! Once tax and tip were done I paid $23 for a 14" pizza! I was underwhelmed when I got my pizza because it was very dense and chewy but I still gave four stars because the leftovers (which lasted two more dinners!) were really fantastic reheated in the oven... better than at the restaurant!
Loved the GF pizza. Big improvement utilizing the new GF pizza crust.
As of April 2014 they have changed their GF pizza dough and it is very good. They also have customizable salads that are great, if a little pricy.
They have a new gluten free crust that is also vegan. It is a delicious thin crust with a whole grain flavor. They also had multiple hard cider options. Highly recommend.
the gluten free pizza crust is very thin, so mine was soggy. could just be the vegetarian pizza though. it tasted decently but it was SO pricey! 22 dollars for a 12" pizza. until I discovered my gluten allergy, I ate there a bunch and loved it. I will not be getting gluten free pizza here again! everything else was great.
Best GF pizza I have ever had!! Expensive but so worth it!
delicious pizza choices, very helpful staff, pricey but not more thsn other GF pizza in our area
Visited from out of town. The crust was well undercooked & spongy, we asked for extra cheese but it came to use with spots of cheese & mostly empty space, and we sent it back because it wasn't even warm. I'm sick now too, so I suspect they didn't take precautions during prep. I'll stick with the location in Charlotte instead!
have had better gf pizza at other Mellow mushrooms across the country.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten issues, cross contamination and what was safe. Great care was taken and it was a very good experience.
IMO, GF pizza is really hard to get right. Crusts are often either raw and doughy or tough amd crumbly. This place gets it right. The crust is 12" and very thin, but not so thin that it tastes like a cracker. I was really impressed. Servers are trained on cross-contamination practices and seem to know what they are doing. A little pricy but worth it for a treat.
Amazing pizza again!! I have been here so many times now and finally decided to try a new pizza, the Caesar. It was AMAZING!!!! It is a pesto chicken pizza topped with Caesar salad. They have recently changed the pizza crust and it is even better than before. The waiter also checked with the cooks and their stuffed portobello mushroom is gluten free! Wonderful service and wonderful food, every time!
they state on the menu that the 12" gf pies are priced as their 14" mediums (vs 10" small), they offer about 6 specialty pies on a dedicated section of their menu, the food has been great and really stepped up from my original experience 3 years ago, my bf and I go here all the time, it's a hippie vibe do don't expect fast service
Staff is knowledgeable about cross contamination and will accommodate if you let them know you are Celiac. The GF pizza is one of the best tasting. On the pricey side, but worth it. The GF pizza takes longer to cook, so we always order it with our drinks.
Very good. We split a salad and the white pizza. Salad came out in 5 minutes & pizza took 25, which I think is a reasonable amount of time for homemade pizza. While the price is a bit high, I'd still go back. Just not too often.
Expensive, especially if feeding a whole family gf pizza. No kids meal prices for gf pizza. Plus, crust is so thin they tend to burn the edges.
So far it is the best GF pizza I ate in Greensboro. It is a little pricey but was worth it if you consider that being GF limits your options of going out for dinner. We manage to get our price down by purchasing groupons when they have them. Had no stomach issue, perfect experience for me.
This pizza was way overpriced. $21 dollars is way too much for a medium size. The dough tasted a little bit funny to me, like what happens when I bake with too much xanthan gum. I won't be going back for a second time.
It's okay. Not the best pizza ever. It's clearly been frozen and only one size but it still doesn't compare to Dominos or Amy's and none of them compare to homemade gf pizza. It's convenient to have it next to the movie theater though and you can get almost anything you want on it. It's a very dry crust but at least they don't have a tendency to burn the crust like Dominos.
It seems to be hit or miss here. I have been cross contaminated once and another time I was fine. The pizza itself was delicious! However they don't list any prices for the GF pizzas and they are substantially higher priced than their regular pies. Also the service is terrible. Expect to be ignored half the time even if the restaurant is empty.
4 stars pending 5, once we come back (pretty sure it is inevitable, the mushroom pizza had my husband licking his fingers, sadly the toppings aren't guaranteed GF ) I had the GF Kosmic Karma. The crust had good chew and flavor, and the toppings were tasty despite my congestion and inability to properly smell. I definitely recommend this place.
FOOD: was great, no complaints at all. SERVICE: was very friendly and knowledgeable on gf. LOCATION: great, easy to find, super clean. ONLY NEGATIVE: We ended up here because we found them on a gluten free website. We were pleased to see they had a gluten free pizza, but nothng else. GF menu has no prices and you'll get slammed with $20 for a pizza not much bigger than a personal pan. Thank you Mellow Mushroom for the delicious gluten free food, but please clean up your gluten free menu and add prices (kind of deceptive) . WOULD WE RETURN: yes!
Awesome pizza! My favorite! Also has dairy free cheese (daiya brand) also my favorite. For someone who can't digest gluten and dairy.. This is the best place in town!
Our new GF crust is also Vegan, and we have stepped it up even further to avoid possibility of cross contamination. Using a custom Smart Flour gluten free/vegan crust now (dropped Still Riding) in order to offer a better pie! All pies are made from isolated ingredients and on a seperate make line/pizza pans. As the owner, please email me with any concerns and I will be glad to help. email@example.com
Taste great. Had veggie gluten free. Asked waitress if any salads were gluten free and she just shrugged. Had bad sharp stomach pains soon after eating there. The crust was different than the gluten crust. But it must have been a cross contamination. I liked it better than the California Pizza Gluten Free but trust them more than Mellow Mushroom. Service is always iffy and they run out of product alot. Just maybe who is in the kitchen that night. Too big of a reaction to try again.
They do a great job of avoiding cross-contamination in their kitchen and the pizza is good - it has a bit of a hippy taste to it (you can tell they use sprouts and other veggies in the crust) but I like it a lot. Deducting a point because they never seem to know which toppings are OK for gfree. I've eaten the all meat pizza several times and not had an issue.
Nice this crust, very tasty
Our server was very attentive, considerate and friendly, especially when it came to gf! We ordered a gf pizza to share and wanted a few toppings different which he had know problem dividing on the pizza. Nice atmosphere with TV screens for watching your favorite teams. Pizza was expensive though, watch your pocketbook!
That have New Planet Beer! Very good GF pizza. They just started using a new GF dough and wanted my opinion. It is very good.
I have come to expect less than stellar GF pizza crusts and just try to make the topping interesting. This was not the case here the crust is really good! I found myself breaking off the crackery crust edges long after I was full. Staff seems knowledgeable and friendly. I will be back.
their pizza is yummy.
The pizza was excellent! I can't eat gluten or dairy, so to find a pizza place that can accommodate me is great! Vegan cheese, gluten free crust, and lots of toppings options. It tasted and smelled and felt like pizza. I would've rated them 5 stars but they put peppers instead of the requested pepperoni on mine. But, I took it to go and when I re-heated it later, it still tasted great!
Pizza was a definite 5stars. I'm not GF, but my husband, who is, and I shared a pizza. We both thought it was great! I did, however, have to take away a star for the difficulty in getting there and poor parking options. It took us so long to travel from I-95 (8mi: 105 min round trip) we called in the pizza to go and just ate it in the car. Good thing, too , bc they were packed with a long waiting line and we couldn't 'to find a place to park even just to grab our to-go order!
Waitress was very nice about my request. She assured me the cook used fresh gloves. It was a little undercooked but ok.
Placed an order ahead of time for a party and asked them to not cook the order until it was time for pick up. Picked up cold pizza. Second time, they made an error and made a non-gf crust so they had to cook a second time. Tried to charge me for both pizzas, even the one we didn't order.
Pricey, but tasty, and Celiac friendly. Have experienced good consistency across chain locations also.
Took a friend who is GF here for lunch. Her pizza was over-cooked, and WAY OVERPRICED! Her GF Pizza was $20!! There are no prices on the menu for the GF Pizzas. We told the Server about our dissatisfaction and she simply shrugged her shoulders. We waited 20 minutes for a table, then another 35 minutes for the Pizza. I will not be going back and definitely do not recommend Mellow Mushroom for GF Pizza!!
I loved thier pizza before I knew I had celiac. As for the GF pizza, it's gross. The crust is nothing like their regular pizza and edible within the first 5 minutes then the more I ate, the worse it got. Still trying to find a good GF pizza and that offers green olives!
The waitress explained, without needing me to ask, that the preparers took extra precautions to avoid cross contamination. I ordered the Cosmic Karma. Crust was a bit overdone (hence the for stars) - probably because they don't make too many and the cook may have been unfamiliar with how gluten free crusts cook differently. Next time, I'll ask them to make sure it's taken out a few minutes early. Will update the review if necessary. Other than that, no negative reactions!
Don't waste your money. Tasteless cardboard.
I was really wanting to like this place. Nice people trying to accommodate GF needs. And the pizza top was pretty good. But the crust was horrible. Very corn-mealy, doughy, too thin, and if you tried to pick it up it just fell apart. Blech. I know there are better recipes out there. Plus I asked for extra mushrooms and I think I got a total of 7 little slices. I mean, it's the name of the place! Way too expensive for pizza I couldn't choke down. The great GF pizza hunt continues.
So many mixed reviews from this chain. Both WS and Greensboro locations. I think the store managers nor the employees really understand how it feels to have their stomach been in pain after eating something it should not have. It is bad alone people, like my 9 year old daughter have to deal with it, but having to pay for the diet styles hurts the wallet to. Sad they don't understand, or they would be more careful or not advertise they are gluten free and be a lie!
Gluten free pizza is awful! Salad again!
Waitress was very knowledgable and helpful. Yummy food with a good variety.
the gf beer was the best part of my pizza. toppings are good; sauce is a little hot and not enough of it; crust is gritty, crumbly and adds a cinnamon like flavor to the pizza . With gf pizza, you usually have to use a fork. they left a good one inch of crust without any sauce or toppongs. The pizza leaves an unpleasent grahm cracker aftertaste.
Worst gf pizza I have ever had so far. $20 for a pizza I have only read good reviews about. My gf son loves pizza and he spit it out and refused to eat it. 2 yr olds don't lie! The crust was soggy and tasteless, Domino's wins over this place hands down and that's hard for me to say.
Amazing pizza! Best I've ever had! Staff is trained in GF safety and food is prepared in a separate area with staff using fresh gloves and aprons, etc.
While their gluten free pizza is ok, the staff and customer service leave a lot to be desired. They would not make us a half and half gluten free pizza without charging us an extra $3 simple because it would complicate things in their kitchen. And their policy is 'to and things easier for their kitchen staff'. So much for helping take care of the customer.
Everything about this experience was bad. The prices are outrageous. I paid $40 for two GF pizzas that combined barely had enough toppings to cover one pizza. But that is the least of my concerns, heck, a loaf of Udi GF bread is about $6. I watched as the guy in the back that is supposed to be making the GF pizzas in a "clean" place take out trays of frozen regular dough. He was wearing gloves but he touched every ball to unstick them from the trays. Then left the stacked trays about two feet away from the processing table designated for GF pizzas. He left the same gloves on and the same apron on when he pulled my pizzas out, put them on the table next to the stacked trays, cut and boxed them. When I confronted the manager she rudely informed me that they are properly trained on how to handle gluten free products. Well, guess what happened when I got home and ate half of one of the pizzas last night. I got an awful stomach ache, struggled to sleep through the night, and woke up today feeling like my insides are flipping. Now I paid way too much for pizza I can't even eat. Save yourself the money and pain and just buy an Udi's pizza crust, and make your own pizza at home. That's the only way to ensure there's no contamination.
I knew I was sick before I even left and was in full out gluten misery by the time I got home. Perhaps I shouldn't have assumed BUT since they make such a huge deal about training and separate prep area I thought I would be safe. Wrong. The pizza itself was very disappointing, cold when it got to me with a gummy mealy-textured crust. The taste of the crust was ok but the texture was awful. Plus they are extremely expensive for a pizza joint. Celiacs or true gluten intolerants: DON'T RISK IT!!! Cross contamination!
The GF pizza was very good. The crust was crispy on the edges but still chewy inside. We asked the waitress to bake it a bit longer from experience at other MM locations. The manager (Jackson) was really attentive. He had his kitchen prepare baked chicken wings for my daughter. He brought all the containers to our table so we could check the ingredients ourselves. They were fantastic. My daughter has CD and is very sensitive. She ate every wing and had no reaction. This store went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.
Love 'em! Consistent quality GF pizza that never makes me sick, and when a server recently waved a wheat pizza over mine, they re-made my GF pizza without a single complaint. New sauces are intesting and different, and they just got Crispin cider on tap - yay!
The food tasted good, but I got sick from their gluten free pizza.... My guess would be cross contamination.
GF Pizza was 12" and flown in from Vermont. Very pricey for what you get and I was still hungry when I left. GF beer was good but a little on pricey side as well. Waiter was knowledgable and friendly but overall I felt like we didn't get our money's worth and we even used a groupon. Probably won't go back unless we have another Groupon worth more.
DO NOT go to the Mt. Pleasant location. Service was terrible, I was with a group and the only one gluten free. I told the waitress 4 times that I was gluten free, and said gluten free again when I ordered. I got a regular pizza, it took an hour to get me a new one. Horrible service! the waitress argued with me that I never told her, Thankfully the 6 other people at my table all heard me tell her and heard her acknowledge me saying so. Save your tummy and time, go downtown.
GF pizza crusts
Pizza was very good.
Delicious pizza with a pesto swirl! Expect the wait for dine in or carry out to be very long. It is great to be able to enjoy pizza night with everyone else!
I'm not a big fan of Mellow Mushroom Pizza after eating here a couple of times. Their pizza is okay, but there are better options. Not only that, but the last time I ate here, I had a gluten reaction. I think it was from contamination, though their menu says they try to avoid it. I will not be going back.
Amazing! Had a great experience. Delicious gluten free pizza. I suggest the Kosmic Karma (tomato sauce, spinach, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, feta, mozzarella, and topped with a pesto swirl)
I was very disappointed. Not only did we wait 45 minutes to get our pizza, but my order was wrong and my husband's pizza was cold. We were so looking forward to the pizza. Also, the GF pizza is very expensive. Two medium pizzas came out to $48!!!!!
The pizza was disgusting and was $20 for about 4 slices! The gf pizza also takes longer to make than the regular pizza! It took 40 minutes for us to recieve it! Not worth it!
Fantastic gluten free pizza! The wait staff was very knowledgable about the seriousness of celiac and took great care of my family!
we found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. the pizza crust they use is Still Riding and i found it to be pretty good the second best pizza i have had in the 10 years i have been dealing with gluten freeness. would reccommend the Mellow Mushroom.
They have a separate gluten free pizza section of the menu with about 6 different pizza options, or create your own from a list. The staff was nice but we waited a long time to be served though it wasn't crowded. They gave us a discount when we mentioned waiting 45 plus minutes after ordering to get our food. My daughter with a wheat allergy enjoyed being able to have pizza. The menu says the gluten free pizza is all cooked separately.
People with me eating the regular crust pizza raved about how good it is. The gluten-free pizza I ordered was terrible. It's by far the worst GF pizza I've ever tried. The crust dissolved into a gritty grainy mush in my mouth—I stopped eating it. Despite explaining that I didn't care for the pizza, the waitress and my table mates encouraged me to take the pizza home, for someone else to eat. (It was expensive, after all.) Later that night and the next day 2 other people tried one bite and spit it out into the garbage. It was really awful. If you are eating GF and end up here with friends able to eat the amazing regular crust pizza, stick with the salad. Those are good. You're going to be jealous watching them eat that regular pizza though.
Dedicated GF menu. Both GF and regular pizzas are delicious.
They have a great selection of gluten free pizzas. They could not do personal pizzas but my friend and I split a big pizza. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend it!
pretty good gluten free pizza. a bit on the expensive side though
Their gf pizza is my favorite. I love the Kosmic Karma.
The pizza I got was pretty good, probably one of the best I've had. The price is pretty high so I most likely wont return. $25 is too much for a pizza anywhere!
Gluten free pizza in a dedicated gluten free kitchen
That served me gluten free pizza and i got cross contaminated with wheat and my stomach hurt really bad. Felt like stabbing pain.
Best Gluten-Free pizza ever. They have a separate area for the food prep. Friendly staff.
I bake a better GF pizza, but this one is good and I don't have to cook all the time. Our waiter told us the GF pizzas are prepared in a separate part of the kitchen and baked in their own oven, to prevent cross-contamination. He did not know if the salads were GF, so we skipped them.
Gluten-Free Pizza and Vegan Cheese!!!
I WOULD eat here... if there was anywhere to park within two miles of this location....
The gluten-free crust is just ok. For whatever reason, they put much less sauce on the gf pizza than regular. I ordered Daiya cheese due to dairy intolerance, and it was incredibly scant. This chain does seem to have a good handle on cross-contamination, and there are quite a few gf toppings to choose from.
Mellow is great for diners with gluten intolerance, but maybe not for celiacs. I wouldn't order a salad because I've watched the cook make a large sandwich and reach into all of the salad ingredients without changing his gloves. After doing that multiple times a day, I'm sure the ingredients are quite contaminated. Too bad.
The first time I ordered the pizza it was ok. On the bland side. The next time I went back it was a Friday night and we waited 30 min to be seated and 40 for food and that's when the server informed us that they had burned my pizza and were making another one. I had my 2 youngest kids with me and they were tired and hungry by that time. The pizza finally came and half of it was cooked fine and the other was barely warm and not cooked well. The manager said their gf dough is frozen and its hard to cook. We didn't have to pay for it. I will not be going back
Gluten-free pizza here! Not the best I've ever had but not bad either. Good atmosphere.
The worst pizza imaginable. Thick, doughy and just plain disgusting. In addition to the bad pizza, there is not place to park.
pretty standard pricing of pizza (gluten free is always a tad more I find). delicious pizza though, but it only comes in a 12" crust. if you're alone you'll have leftovers
Great place to eat! More options for gluten-free pizza than anywhere else I have been. Wish we had one in MO!
Ive had many, many gluten free pizzas in my day. Honestly this is the worst pizza I've ever had. I don't think it was even cooked all the way. Plus it was sooo incredibly expensive. What really made me frustrated was that I ordered pesto but they didn't put it on the pizza because they were not sure if I could eat it because it wasn't vegan. They had my number but didn't call to ask? That's bad service.
dedicated gf section in the kitchen they change gloves aprons and use different pans and utensils highly recommend
Lots of gluten free options on the GF menu, but by NYC standards this pizza is not very good. Fine in a pinch.
The gluten-free pizza is very good.
Love the pizza. Kids can finally have decent pizza.
Horrible. Waiter told my husband that he thought the soups were all GF. Then he went and checked after we asked him to and he said he could not guarantee it because of manufacturing but that they contained no gluten ingredients. My husband ordered the mushroom soup, took one bite and could tell there was wheat in it. I asked them to give me a list of the ingredients and sure enough, the label said in bold letters "Contains Wheat". When I calmly tried to explain to the waiter what a serious issue this is for someone with celiac, he began to get defensive and blamed us for the situation. Luckily the manager overheard our conversation, apologized and did not charge us for our meal. Very frustrating, not looking forward to my husband getting sick from this :(
The employeees were great, they were completly aware of food allergies!!! My pizza was great, as was the rest of my non gf family!!! Will be back when we want pizza again.
Awesome never been sick they understand everything!!!!!
The BEST gluten-free pizza I've eaten! Not to mention at a great price!
Gluten free pizza! Kitchen staff well trained to avoid cross-contamination.
Great pizza and service! Lots of toppings to choose from. I like the gluten-free crust, and my husband who doesn't eat gf liked it, too. Pricey compared to some pizza places, but worth it.
Good pizza, gluten free options in the main menu as a separate section, crust could have been a little more crispy but good, staff knowledgable
I'm updating my review because the pizza has improved and the wait staff seem more knowledgeable about the gluten free pizza now. They fall just a bit short of 5 stars because there are no prices on the gluten free menu and I seem to be charged differently each time when ordering the same thing.
Great gluten free pizza!
Service was pretty good but the pizza crust was not. It was more like soft corn meal. Not my cup of tea.
Great service! Very knowledgeable! Very tasty GF pizza!
Excellent pizza! All pizzas can be made gluten free. Highly recommend.
Tasty pizza with lots of options. All their salad dressings are GF except thousand island.
Excellent food great choices even gluten free beer for the adults!
I am very sensitive but got sick after eating here. Fox's Pizza in Petal and Oak Grove has gf pizza and I have never been sick there
Would've been a 5 based on flavor, but the portions on the GF appetizers were really small and I was a little more than a little put off by the prices. My husband and myself, each w/ a personal pizza, shared a small app and a drink, bill was almost $70 not including tip.
My daughter has Celiac Disease and we went to eat at this place. When she received her pizza she did not like it, I even tried it ugh!! She ended up getting sick because they did not cook it separate from the other food after I explained to them that her pizza cannot touch other foods containing wheat. Her pizza was expensive, what a waste of money and I am very disappointed!
Are you kidding? The gluten-free pizza is an expensive joke! Amy's frozen pizza is better. Save your money.
Food was overcooked the first time by the time my wives food arrived everyone else in our party was finished eating and they still charged full price even when they brought her a salad she didn't ask for I will never eat here again
The pizza really wasn't bad--it's just that it's pre-cooked, so you'll usually either get undercooked toppings or an overcooked crust. The crust was both dry and sponge-y; paired with barely-melted cheese, very little sauce, and warm toppings (we got the Supreme, I think), it was not very tasty. I had it again at work a little while later. This time I requested the one with the pesto swirl; I think it's called Cosmic Karma? Not sure, but it was much tastier. The strong flavor of the pesto helped mask the blandness of the crust, and it helped that I wasn't missing HOT tomato sauce. It's worth trying.
Great pizza great salad. A bit expensive but really tasty
Their pizza is pretty good but it is extremely overpriced. I got a pizza for lunch and mine cost $20. My coworker got a regular pizza for $6.94. I couldn't believe the difference in price for only 2" more of pizza. They should also have a 10" available.
Great GF pizza
Yummy pizza and no tummy troubles after!
Awesome and super yummy! Completely understood everything and pizza was amazing :)
The wait seemed to be forever, but the food was well worth it! I'd budget my time a little differently to visit again, but I'd definitely do it! Wish they'd put one in San Antonio
Super pizza. We really liked the crust. Loved the different sauces and so many toppings. I liked the olive oil and garlic sauce with veggies. The kids loved their pizza also. We have some lactose intolerance and this place has vegan cheese so we can really indulge!
Good pizza, plenty of options. Very knowledgable wait and kitchen staff.
Good pizza, not a decent selection of anything else though.....
Pizza was amazing!
i've always been a fan of their pizza and the GF one is good. i think they also have GF beer. however, be warned- the 12" GF pizza is $18, at least in Durham. i don't think it used to be that pricey and the GF pizza at other places like Brixx and Lilly's is cheaper, i think. mellow mushroom is safe and good quality but be prepared to spend a lot.
Pizza was very good and they were very accommodating.
The Rome ga store is awesome, manager came out and spoke with me about my order. A little pricey but worth the time to feel normal with friends and Family!!
Very good but only one size and a little over priced.
have eaten here several times with no probs. knowledgeable and great pizza
Yum yum yum! I LOVE their gf pizza and haven't gotten sick! All 3 times I have gone the staff has been very knowledgeable about gf!
GF pizza choices we fantastic and it tasted great!
Amazing GF pizza
They have a great gluten free crust as well as daiya cheese for dairy free consumers like me. They're menu also speaks extensively about the steps that they take to keep the gluten free ingredients uncontaminated. A little gem amongst an otherwise vegetarian unfriendly town.
Tried the GF pizza here yesterday and really liked it! The crust is thin but not crunchy like a lot.of thin crust pizzas can be. It actually tasted really good! Very different from the normal crust but very flavorful. Even my non-GF bf liked it! Be careful though, not all toppings are GF... we ordered a pie w steak and the waiter was awesome enough to double check on his own and discovered that the steak was not GF. Boy was I grateful! Will definitely go back.
Pizza was ok. Dough had a grainy texture to it that I was not too fond of.
The Gluten Free pizza is THE BEST!!
If you let the greeter and/or server know you have celiac, your table should be wiped down and your food will come on distinct plates. They're done a good job training their folks, it seems. The pizza crust is really good, though it's a shame it doesn't come in more than one size.
Our waiter was very helpful and assured my pizza would not be cross contaminated. It might have been the best gf pizza I've ever had, and definitely the coolest looking. I had trouble picking out which pizza I wanted because there were so many to choose from- I don't recall the name but I chose the one with Roma tomatoes, spinach, feta cheese, and the green pesto sauce that they decorated in a swirl on top! So cool!
Delicious gluten-free crust. They provide only one size of the GF pizza, but it's 12 inches, so it's big enough to share or have plenty left over. The menu provides the ingredients of the crust, so if you have other food sensitivities you can check. Lots of interesting toppings.
Great experience! The downtown Raleigh Mellow Mushroom uses a separate container (with a lid) for gf silverware and plates and even salt + pepper shakers. They asked if it was a diet preference or food allergy. There is an extra 15 minute process they go through in the back to ensure it is gluten free and no cross contamination. Worth waiting (not too long.) The pizza was delicious! Crust was good. They even let us do half and half of two different pizzas. Gluten free beer too. Great experience!!
Pretty good. Ask for GF menu. Tried the house meaty pizza, a pesto pizza, and drank a Woodchuck beer (draft!), and really enjoyed all of it. Pizza crust is mostly bean flour and sort of had a fluffy cornbread texture. I docked them just 1 star for flavor because I didn't like their tomato sauce, but everything else was great.
I think their toppings are great. However, they use Still Riding crust and it is pretty bad. It doesn't take long for the crust to start getting soggy. Plus, I do not like the taste of the crust. I also tried a Mellow Mushroom in Pensacola, FL and had the same results. Th server asked me if I wanted a box to take what was left with me. When I said, "NO.", He said that very few did. I usually just scrape the topping off the crust & eat that.
Love it. I have so missed going out to have pizza..ur gluten pizza was just what the Dr ordered
Honestly, my gluten-free pizza was gross AND it made me sick. Not worth it.
Great pizza. Great service. The host even wiped down our table and brought out special gf safe plates. I've never gotten sick here, and I am super sensitive.
Man the gluten free pizza is so good from this place, I have to have one ever weekend. If only I can get my kids on board.
As a certified food safety professional that happens to be gluten free, I have a hard time finding pizza that I can trust. I have spoken with people in the stores and at a corporate level with Mellow Mushroom and find them to be knowledgeable and careful with GF customers. They use GF cornmeal rather than wheat flour for dusting and they have a system in place to reduce the risk of cross-contamination when making a GF pizza. Mellow Mushroom is tasty, reasonably priced and safe for the Celiac to eat. I love it.
Good pizza but sooooooo slooooow and the music is so loud you can't have a conversation with the person beside you let alone across the table.
This was the best GF pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend it. Our waitress was GF, so she made sure everything was okay.
My favorite GF pizza. And never makes me sick!
GF pizza is just so-so, but they seem to really get it- changing aprons and all. Lots of variety and quality toppings.
Great GF pizza! Finding a parking spot can be a bit of a hassle, but the GF pizza and the service are worth it.
Delicious...and great with custom orders..kid friendly
great gluten-free pizza!!!
Very good pizza!! ❤
I loved Mellow Mushroom. My boyfriend has Celiacs' and had a large, House Special pizza on his own, he LOVED it. It was the first time in 7 years he had attempted to try gluten free pizza and literally was in heaven. I tried it myself and the bread was moist and very tasteful. My chicken calzone was pretty awesome too!
Lots of room for improvement! The crust was crisp and good. The toppings defeated it --all dumped in the middle (with 2" bare around the outside edge) and overcooked until dried out. Skimpy on some ingredients, like cheese, and I couldn't even see or taste the artichokes. While the crust's flavor was okay, the toppings were overpowered with olive oil/olive flavor. I also paid alot for it! I think I'll get frozen next time I want pizza.
Nice atmosphere. Employees had no clue about a gluten free menu. They all just parroted back that the only gf pizza was the medium size. Crust was soggy. 19.50 for a med pizza.
Staff seems to understand req of gf but I've gotten sick on the gf pizza twice! Must be cross contamination because it was diff toppings each time; once it was just the cheese pizza. It is off our list, replaced by BJs gf pizza just down the street.
Awesome gluten free pizza and great service as well. Try the salads too.
Service was good & fast for as busy as they were. GF pizza was really good. My only complaint was the price. $54 (not including tip) for a GF pizza, a LG Hawaiian pizza & 5 sodas is a bit much. We won't be eatting here often because of that.
Tried the gluten free dough twice and still couldn't convenice myself it was good or manage to finish either pizza. Too dry and not tasty at all.
pizza ok. cootie browns in johnson city is better
Great gluten free pizza.
Staff are really knowledgable! They even use a separate oven for cookin the pizza. Cameout really well
Wonderful House Special gluten free - and gluten free beer too!
The gf pizzas are really good and most of the toppings are gf as well. If you want a salad with gf protein they have those as well and are quite tummy.
Awesome food and atmosphere. They even have a dedicated gluten free menu with gluten free beer. GF pizza is excellent. Only downside is the GF pizza only 12in, no other size. Suggest that they get a larger size on the menu.
Pricy and Brixx has a better pizza crust
can only get medium pizza with GF crust. Other than that, Hawaiian pizza was good.
server had no clue. then after he brought out the pizza he was like "some of those toppings are not gluten free" after i specified i had to be gluten free. my 17 year old who CAN eat gluten didn't even trust the place!
Great gluten free pizza!!
Phenomenal pizza. would be even better with a gluten free beer.
Nashville better than murfreesboro
GF crust was not cooked enough and the sauce tastes like tomato paste out of a jar.
GF pizza is amazing!
The GF crust isn't bad but if you put some tasty toppings on it it's amazing. They also have some GF beers available.
Excellent! Delicious pizza--very welcoming for the gf crowd. Three cheers!
Good pizza. I wish the crust was a little bit thinner.
So not a fan of their gluten free pizza. It didn't have a good taste and the toppings did not work well together. I like their original crust better but unfortunately it is not an option anymore.
Awesome they told us that they make the gluten free pizzs seperate from all others and it shows. Great menu will be going back
The gluten-free pizza is delicious & they serve gf Sin Cider!
