Melodia Grill

Melodia is awesome. Whether you're gluten free or not, you absolutely need to come here and try the food. Enjoy the ambience. Take your friends! Everything was inexplicably good.

But first, let me be clear about my feelings for most of the restaurants on find me gluten free. Just because you toss a few croutons off the salad and add a fruit bowl to the dessert menu does NOT make a restaurant gluten free friendly. I have severe reactions to eating gluten which makes me nervous about eating out because most people don't understand cross contamination and how serious that is. I'm not surprised that lots of chain restaurants are getting in on the gluten free "bandwagon" so to speak, but I am disappointed when I get there and the waiters have no idea what I'm talking about.

At the Melodia Grill? The waitress we had was not only friendly, but knowledgeable about gluten free restrictions (a rare thing indeed). The executive chef is super careful about preventing cross contamination, using separate equipment, the whole shebang. It's hard to believe that a gem like this exists in Souderton, a restaurant with all natural and organic food, a true gluten-free menu (it is presented with the main menu - you don't have to ask for it specially), local and fresh ingredients, friendly owners, nice background music (seriously important for great dining), reasonable prices (for what you're getting).

Honestly, our dinner exceeded our expectations. I was actually recommended by a friend who went there and saw the amazing gluten free options. We don't live close by, but after much deliberating, we decided to give dining out another chance and boy, I'm glad we did!!

So, let me walk you through the meal: I started off with a soup, since it was still cold outside at the time (springtime believe it or not): Lobster & Crab bisque is to die for!!! I'm still shocked that it's gluten free... and relieved that I am not dairy free. Chunks of lobster and crab meat were evident and not hard to find.

I decided to order the Citrus Sea Bass Filet - it was just... wow. Flavorful and cooked to perfection. My sister ordered the Signature Filet and she loved it. I actually enjoyed the vegetables greatly, they were so fresh and well cooked.

And last but definitely not least, I always save room for dessert. I have not had a decent piece of pie in a while, and lo and behold, the chef just finished making a Gluten Free Apple Pie. I just cannot express the feelings I had at the moment for that pie. It took me right back to mom's kitchen. But then, I tasted the Chocolate Cheesecake. It was creamy and chocolatey and delicious - with an awesome nut crust. That was the perfect end to a perfect evening.

Overall, our experience at Melodia Grill? Five stars. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. A+++. I rarely write reviews about restaurants, but when you come across a gem like this one? You gotta tell someone! I look forward to my next trip there and am longing to try their creme brulee and strawberry cheesecake. 'Til next time...

The food was absolutely fantastic! I loved all of the gluten free options, from gluten free crab bisque to chocolate cheesecake!!! Melodia makes dining with dietary restrictions easy. Our server was very patient and accommodating also. We will definitely be back!

The food is absolutely wonderful. Staff is knowledgeable and very willing to explain options. Price is a little high for me to enjoy visiting as much as I would like, but I was not disappointed in the food at all.
