Review of Mel's Hot Dogs

Mel’s Hot Dogs is a long time family owned restaurant. They were just bought with the promise of keeping everything as is, however, they added more to the menu including ice cream! So far nothing has truly changed besides Mel’s presence. It is a happy and fun old diner style place and it is a long time family favorite of ours. They have had gluten free buns and a dedicated gluten free fryer for fries for years and I’ve always enjoyed eating there. I do tend to avoid eating there during the busy hours because I was glutened one time when it was busy and I’m sure someone just touched my bun without thinking because it was wild in there. Ashley though, she pays great attention and always makes sure I’m taken care of. She understands how important it is. She’s super sweet and amazing. I recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a GOOD gluten free hot dog. They also have confirmed the chili they use is gluten free, they let me check the ingredients and it was safe and my husband enjoyed a chili dog without glutening me by kissing me afterwards! I wholeheartedly love this place.
