The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I do wish they had more child friendly GF options though. My daughter had mashed potatoes and veggies and was happy but it was a little unremarkable.

They have a separate gluten free menu that is basically items from their main menu and then telling you how to ask for it gluten free, which was cool. I went here with my partner and I ordered the double decker BLT on gluten free bread. He ordered the double decker BLT but normal. His came with mayo and sauce and toasted bread. Mine came with no mayo, no sauce, and on dry crumbly ends of gluten free loaves. I asked what they use for mayo and it’s not gluten free. If I had known that I wouldn’t have ordered this.
The waitress told me fries are gluten free so I said are you sure, she said yes. I asked if the fries were fried in their own fryer and not with the chicken tenders and she said “oh, no their all the same fryer. I guess it isn’t gluten free.”
I didn’t get sick, but it was kind of scary her claiming stuff was gluten free when it wasn’t and the sandwich was awful with dry lettuce and bread. It was like eating a sleeve of saltines.

Hostess didn’t know about their gluten friendly menu but having already found it online I was able to see what was safe and the server was on top of it. The chicken salad sandwich with a side of fruit I ordered was tasty!

This cafe was very good. After asking all my regular questions about food safety for celiac diners I ordered mashed potatoes & breakfast sausage, they were delicious, plus no side effects. There were many more options listed as gf but I selected a few which seemed the safest. My partner(who's not gf, loved everything he ordered too. Glad we stopped here for down home kind of cooking. Our server was nice too.

Went to the Metro diner for breakfast. They can only offer gf toast. Not cooked separately. The waitress didn’t even know where a gf menu was. Stay away if your celiac

I love Metro Diner. They are incredibly accommodating, have a large gluten free menu, and take careful precautions. Their gluten free substitutions are very high quality (the sandwich buns are some of the best gf buns I’ve had, you can’t even tell) and many of their items are already gluten free. I’ve never gotten sick here, or at any Metro location, and the waitress here even went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and comfortable. Delicious food, fun atmosphere, and I feel great!

They have a gluten free menu upon request. Servers were very knowledgeable and were upfront about the fact that there was no fryer dedicated to GF food. They recommended substitutions for fries and tater tots because they couldn’t ensure that fries would be safe

My mother-in-law ‘loves a diner’ and Metro is our spot - about once a month. I’ve only been diagnosed w celiac disease for 3 months so I’m still navigating it all but I was very impressed w/ Metro. They do not have ‘GF’ indicated on the menu but I’ve had multiple waitresses be very aware and helpful when I tell them ‘celiac’. I usually get an omelet and grits and GF toast. FYI - I asked and they buy Udi’s brand (from Publix) - which is actually very good GF bread.
