I tried this place for the first time tonight, after thinking about trying it for years. It wasn’t listed on Find Me GF, but I decided to try it anyway. I sadly got glutened and am paying the consequences.
Their fryer has gluten go into it, so the chips and other fried corn tortilla items are not safe for those with Celiac. Our server (who was really kind and talked to the chef multiple times about ingredients for me) said that many of their meats are marinated with gluten containing ingredients. They have a few items on the menu that are labeled GF, and then they have some items that are labeled as containing gluten, while others don’t say either way. I asked about the enchiladas rojas, which didn’t say either way, but it used corn tortillas and didn’t have the chicken that is marinated in gluten. Our server double and triple checked with the chef regarding all ingredients and said it should be safe and completely gluten free. The chef seemed to really care too. They tried very hard to make a safe meal for me and I appreciate that, and the food was delicious. Sadly, they were not successful in making a completely GF meal and I am dealing with the consequences now.
If you are only gluten sensitive, and not Celiac, you should be fine here. If you are Celiac, I would stick to one of the menu items that is marked GF and ask lots of questions and request clean gloves and prep spaces for your meal. But this is probably a spot to skip if you are a sensitive Celiac.
